Seems to me he was bashing all the right people!

RIP, Rush! You will be greatly missed.

My heart is heavy today.

My sister told me she was in tears.

You see, Rush was more than a political pundit for us. We had "family difficulty" with parents that were not up to the task and one was/is actually cruel.

My sister saw him as a father figure, with guidance and kind words. I miss our father and heard in Rush someone I could admire and reinforce the goodness of my Dad's advice.

Speaking for myself, I fear his absence, but I look forward to those that take up the mantle. His outline is simple, but finding the pure soul to carry on is the issue.

I have no doubt someone(s) will.

Until then, I say a prayer for Rush and believe he is in fact looking down on us all with benevolence and a full heart.

It’s gonna be hard to look at that radio and know that his voice won’t be heard there ever again. There were so many times that I’d be upset over some political issue and it was reassuring to know that I could hear his take on things everyday. I knew it was coming sooner than later but you’re never prepared for a tragic loss.

It was a good run for Rush. It wasn't always pretty - but he did it his way and I hope we are all better for it.

I’m sorry I keep posting on this but it occurred to me that perhaps now on his side of the veil he can know how grateful I am to him.

I have the radio on all day while I'm working. Not always listening, but always on from 0600-1500 every day for the last 30+ years.

I'll miss the Pretenders intro and hearing his voice in the background... I wish his family peace at this time.

RIP El Rushbo. You were a once in a generation talent. I sincerely hope someone can step up to the plate and continue reading the seams.

The editorial by Mark Steyn was great. Thank you for posting.

I will miss Rush, RIP.
I have had Paul Harvey and Rush talk to me since I was born almost 70 years ago.
I don't see a replacement.
I will settle for having those two and call myself lucky and grateful.

Rush, you have been a part of our family since you started in the late 80's when we were living in Oklahoma. The world has lost a powerful voice of freedom. It won't ever be the same without you. I'm thankful I got to see you at Dan's Bake Sale in Fort Collins Colorado in the 90's. RIP sir, you will be missed more than you can imagine.

I didn't know it was that bad or think he would go this soon.

I remember when he was on TV circa 1988 before moving to radio. I watched him speak and thought, "Damn, this guy speaks both to and for me. I've never seen anything like it."

Even in death, Rush has reaffirmed to me that those claiming they want "unity" only want compliance. I too have looked at a couple of MSM sites and they hateful comments are flowing. They hate Rush for a reason.

Thank you for so eloquently verbalizing what so many of us thought but never could state so adequately.
I started listening to Rush when I graduated from college and discovered him driving, was in 1992.

I had a couple of neighbors that worked with Rush when he was at the Kansas City Royals. One of the things Rush did was organize the pregame. I asked one of them if it was apparent Rush was destined for greatness, she laughed and said: "Oh no. He was a goofball"

One day I met Mickey Cobb who was a trainer and maybe a weight trainer for the Royals when Rush was there. He was friends with Rush and I asked if he stays in touch, he lamented that Rush didn't.

I will never forget the first time I heard him on the radio. I could not forget someone on the radio had so many of the same beliefs as me, and he was spouting them over the air. Whenever possible, I would tune him in.

R.I.P. Mr. Limbaugh!

This is a Townhall article written last year this time by a local Philly talk radio guy named Chris Stigall, he reposted today. A really good read:

Rush Limbaugh - The Best Friend I've Never Met

This line is spot on and I always instantly knew when someone was going off on Rush for being “hateful” and “racist” they were full of shit and had never actually bothered to listen to him:

“Despite his fame and wealth over a thirty-plus year career, Rush Limbaugh never became cynical, or hateful, or condescending, or mean-spirited. He loves his country and the people who make it work so very much. It leaps from the speakers every day.”
