The NRA statement:

Where would you want the NRA to be?

Isn't Colion Noir a NRA representative?

in court, just like GOA has done. Unless I missed the part where NRA did an actual court filing.

I've been wondering that, too. They should have already war-gamed various potential anti-gun actions so they would have lawsuits ready to go with minor tweaks.

NRA are the 800 lb gorilla when it comes to lobbying but they are too far behind on reacting to state or local level issues.

They can't afford lawyers. I mean, where is Wayne gonna pay for another pair of $500 socks?

Is that even true anymore? Opensecrets.org says NRA spent a total of $2,630,000 lobbying in 2022. That's a really, nice, round number. Hmmm.... down from $4,920,000 in 2021.

GOA spent $3,298,803.

So, last year, GOA spent 25.43% more on lobbying than the NRA.

The same year, the NRA logged $15,898,751 in "outside spending." The GOA logged $2,659,373 in outside spending.

So the GOA spent more than the NRA did on lobbying last year, and they also spent less on outside spending. The NRA spent 504.52% more on outside spending than they did lobbying.

The NRA isn't an 800lb gorilla, it's a 2,000lb leech on the 2A community. Every time something like this shit in New Mexico has happened in the better part of the last decade, it's not the NRA jumping up to lead the charge, it's GOA, it's SAF, it's one of number of other groups who stepped up because Fudd LaPierre isn't doing anything.

I agree. I dumped the NRA years ago for Gun Owners of America

Exactly.

The NRA is still spending huge $$ on lawyers defending Wayne and his sycophants in the NY case.

Man, I thought the NRA was in the Governor’s head bad, but it seems to be in everybody’s heads. Somebody wake me if there’s any new news about the Mew Mexico thing.

More lawsuits coming from some ffl holders. Gov. Grisham's health order says the state will start inspecting ffl's records. An ffl holder on talk radio said his records can only be inspected by atf. One or more gun store are filing lawsuits to stop her.

Also the governor wants the waste water from the schools tested for drugs. I wonder if drugs are in the sewage are the drugs from students or teachers or janitor.

Next the governor wants the hospitals to report gunshot victims to the dept.of health. Including caliber, make and model of weapon, race and age of victims and why the shooting occurred.
I thought law enforcement was already notified.

Albuquerque police and the Sheriff dept. already do a good job, it's the DAs and judges that aren't doing their jobs.

Here's link below to the NM health order.

Watching the press release from the Governor, she repeatedly referenced the NRA, even though the NRA was uninvolved. Now, the last page of this thread has become more about the NRA than about the happenings in NM. This is what I meant about being in everybody’s head. I just don’t see why every 2A event has to become a discussion about Wayne’s socks. It’s very distracting to always have the rants about the NRA in every 2A current event.

I don’t want you to think I’m shilling for the NRA. I am just curious why some need to always bring this up. Does the lobbying of the GOA vs the NRA have anything to do with the NM current event? If I’m out of line, I apologize. I won’t be up much longer, but I’ll check in tomorrow to take my lumps.

Thankfully, ol’ Wayne isn’t going to be using any of my $$ anymore to fund his trips, suits, hookers & blow.
The amount of mailings I’ve got recently (6-7 months) is insane. I have replied several times with LARGE sharpie writing - GET RID OF WAYNE, THEN WE CAN TALK!
The GOA bitch slap is just what Albuquerque needed.

Maybe you didn't read the part, a few posts above, where it was stated that the NRA filed a lawsuit? Roll Eyes

Oh I read it. The one they filed a day after the GOA already got an injunction against da guvnah?

Like I said, they can do whatever they want without my money —> claim to be fighting arm in arm with another real pro gun group because they filed an amicus brief. Such courage! (And that isn’t a one off by any means)

Good to know. Roll Eyes Although you didn't quote that in your list of quotes in your previous post. Maybe you should just start a thread about how the NRA sucks instead of adding no value to this thread.
