LBJ, I am just seeign this now as I have been off the grid here for a while moving my office.
My prayers are with you. And don't believe that you have X years shit. They told my Mother In Law she had 4 months to live with Stage 4 cancer, she lived 9 more years. Yes there were shitty time with chemo and treatments and needles and hospitals. But she had trips to vegas, saw he daughter get married, saw both of her grandchildren be born and start to grow up. They remember her fondly every day.

Fight, stay positive and Fight again.

Godspeed in your journey.

Praying that God guide the hands and eyes of the doctors and nurses as they remove this illness, and for Him to grant you strength on your road to recovery.

Would not be surprised if maybe he is cursing out the hospital "Free" internet because for everyone's safety, SigForum is being filtered out as a "GUN" site and he is not able to access!

This is lbj’s sister with a post-surgery update on my brother.
All began as expected yesterday (Monday), with the laparoscopic robotic kidney removal procedure first. The tumor was larger & more well-connected than anticipated, so it was harder to remove; they had to make an incision about 3 times longer than planned to get it out, and finally had to reach in to pull it out of him. We later heard that the mass of the kidney, the tumor, and the usual fatty tissue encasing it unfolded to the size of a football. This has become one of my brother’s stories to tell staff & visitors – and yes, despite everything, he is still telling stories & cracking jokes. Thank goodness!
The hernia removal was routine, yesss. Then came post-op. Because of the much larger incision, the pain was at least a 10 and for a while it seemed impossible to give lbj relief. The docs suggested an epidural, which they administered and slowly but surely his pain has gone down. As I write, it is down to around 4 or 5.
It was a very rough night! He had an asthma attack which was awful for him, but after a call to his doc at 4 this morning, lbj is getting a treatment every 4 hours that is really helping. Today he took a short walk, he’s having more liquids on the way to soft foods.
The pathology report won’t come in for days. If he is still in hospital when his doc receives it, they will talk then; if it comes back later, this is never a conversation done over the phone so the doc will discuss when lbj & mrs. lbj come in for his appointment early next week.

Though I’m not a member of Sig Forum, I have been following this thread since lbj told me he was posting here. Your prayers, your words of hope & encouragement, your stories of your own experiences with what he’s going through, your ideas & advice have been amazing to me. You already know how much my brother appreciates you all, and now I must tell you how very grateful I am for the way your are holding him in your minds & hearts.

Thank you for the update, lil' sis!!! Smile

Good to hear that lbj's pain is being managed. With everything that was going on, I was assuming the hernia repair would be the LEAST of everyone's worry. Prayers for a full and quick recovery are still being lifted up to The Great Physician!!!

God bless!!

Prayers sent up along with best wishes. I know of people who were told they had 3-5 years and they are still with us many years later. I firmly believe your attitude plays a big part in the healing process.
