May be a dumb question but why are they deploying a unit from so far away?
It seems to be the Alabama unit and their equipment would be far more useful in the Gulf Area to help with Hurricane Recovery.

Would there not be a much closer unit to Wisconsin?

My guess on this is it has to do with their MOS. Didn't a member mention earlier that he knew someone deploying from AL who was an MP? An MP unit from Alabama would probably be better at working the riots than say the tank unit from Ohio.

ETA: Man that video from the Sacramento County Sheriff needs to be distributed as a training aid on how to inform the public on how LE will handle the insurgents. It was beautiful!

Well this is refreshing, especially coming from California no less. Sacramento Sheriff and PD have had enough of Antifas bullshit.

That really is good to hear that someone in authority is willing to say "enough". It's also good to hear that the D.A. will prosecute anyone charged. It's about damn time, and more of that is needed.

Local news this evening called the protest at Ted's a 'block party'. LOL. These loons were really protesting for Ted the Turd to defund the police within 2 years tops.

Thanks for the post on the attorney who outlines the kid's actions in self-defense. It aligns perfectly with what I learned in Attrny Andrew Branca's 'Law of Self-Defense' seminar and book, (2nd edition) I took 6 years ago when offered at my local gun club.

The kid has his heart in the right place - perhaps should not have been there, but....

I suspect if he sets up a go fund me page, it will out raise the PDX bail out, go fund me page here which last I read is at 1.1 million (was 750K when I was on my PDX field trip while talking with a PDX Police officer on the events).

Must say Blake's mother is one classy lady. CNN must be very unhappy. I got the feeling she knows her son is a POS (at least POS based on his current charges and I guess a few priors?)

Local FBI here is actively trying to hunt down violent protestors in Portland. Saw a few local news casts stating this, with FBI asking for help in ID'ing and locating quite a number of sought after 'block party participants'.

Also, saw an interview on FOX with Assistant Sec. of DHS Cuncinelli (sp) a few days back. FOX interview asked if they are going to use some insurrection law (Forgot what he called it) to send in Federal Troops/ NG units in to Portland to put and end to the riots, like Bush I did in LA during the Rodney King block parties.

He responded that the King riots involved thousands of people, whereas the PDX riots only involved a few hundred, so no, unless the Governor asks for help. FOX person pressed him, and he sort of indicated that nothing is off the table.

Seems like DHS Sec. Nominee Wolf and Assistant Sec. Cucinelli are bending over backwards in not trying to run over the 10th amendment here (perhaps President Trump too). Both stated in separate interviews I've seen, that it is a local LEO matter.

We'll see how long they hold off. Ted the turd says he has a plan. Well, Custer had a plan too. Ted is definitely starting to get serious pressure from the local PDX business community, to fix it, now.

It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.

From the “Citizen Free Press” -

VERY disturbing video from NYC…

Two NYPD police officer’s get assaulted by a member of the community who is parked illegally in front of a fire hydrant.

One of the most troubling things going on in the video is that while the savage is confronting one of the officer’s, his back is to the second officer who takes absolutely NO action to subdue / neutralize the violent criminal who just decked his partner. He is talking on the freaking phone!

The officer’s are not to be blamed for not interacting with the perp as would otherwise be appropriate. The Commie DeBlasio and the feckless Cuomo own this unfolding catastrophe.

Sadly, you are correct. They want power, under the guise of peace. And too many fall for the ploy.

more about the "victim" Jacob Blake

https://nypost.com/2020/08/28/...-out-for-his-arrest/

The cops involved in the shooting of Jacob Blake — which touched off a fresh wave of angry, anti-police sentiment across the country — were attempting to arrest him for violating a restraining order stemming from an alleged sexual assault

Blake, 29, was forbidden from going to the Kenosha home of his alleged victim from the May 3 incident, and police were dispatched Sunday following a 911 call saying he was there.

The responding officers were aware he had an open warrant for felony sexual assault, according to dispatch records and the Kenosha Professional Police Association, which released a statement on the incident on Friday.

That police union statement also claimed that Blake was armed with a knife at the time of the shooting — and had put one cop in a headlock and shrugged off two Taser attempts while resisting arrest.

What would fix these antifia and blm assholes? How about a stint in GITMO? Even a few weeks in there, I'm sure, would be enough to straighten some of those assholes.

Two lessons here:

1. Why do some of the rioters identify themselves as "press" ?

2. One more example of the obvious bias of obama appointed judges

https://www.breitbart.com/law-...rs-to-pose-as-press/

A July order by Judge U.S. Judge Michael H. Simon — a Barack Obama appointee — prevented federal law enforcement from dispersing journalists and “legal observers” during protests

The U.S. Department of Justice appealed the injunction.

Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Ken Cuccinelli told the Senate Judiciary Committee earlier this month that rioters had abused the injunction by wearing signs saying “press” — and then launching violent attacks on federal officers.

The local Portland Police Bureau likewise reported rioters wearing “press” insignia were throwing rocks at police officers.

In a 2-1 ruling, a panel of Ninth Circuit judges held: “Based on our preliminary review, appellants have made a strong showing of likely success on the merits that the district court’s injunction exempting “Journalists” and “Legal Observers” from generally applicable dispersal orders is without adequate legal basis.”

So 2 to 1, the panel issued a stay on Judge Simon's order

The two judges signing the majority opinion were Eric D. Miller and Daniel Aaron Bress, both appointees of President Donald Trump .

The dissenting judge was M. Margaret McKeown, a Bill Clinton appointee.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Chief Justice John Roberts : "We do not have Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges," "That independent judiciary is something we should all be thankful for."

We would be thankful if we had a truly independent judiciary

What's this? A news story which describes the real-world impact of the riots? And a disapproving frown and head shake from an anchor?? A frown and head shake, do you hear me? I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

Odds are these people abandoning downtown Mpls voted for the cretins running the city. The "no firearms" sign in the first clip reinforces my position.

I hope they see that liberal policies have brought them broken windows and dreams, and that they vote rock-ribbed law-and-order from now on.

All of this bullshit is going to have a huge impact on demographics. There is going to be a new generation of "white flight" in contrast to the gentrification and urban renewal of past 20 years. All of those fancy downtown condos and quaint bungalows are going to be a lot less appealing now, to smart people anyway.

My wife and I are less than 5 years from being empty nesters. We plan to get out of our suburban neighborhood and look for a different option for the next chapter. I can live anywhere in the southern US that has reasonable access to an airport for my work. We had given a lot of consideration to the urban lifestyle for this next phase. Maybe a flat in a highrise with lots of amenities. Plenty to do and everything at your doorstep from restaurants to entertainment has a certain appeal for a couple in our early 50's with a lot of free time and a decent amount of disposable income. Well.......fuck that!

As my dear ol' daddy would say, wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up the fastest.

Although in the case of this guy, he'll have to shit in the hand of one of his "comrades".

About time. The bulk of our newscasters have been here for years and have a commitment to the community. The emotion shows through as they often know the people who have been hurt. At times we do have the talking heads who are passing through in the hopes of a larger TV market. Less emotion from them and they often hilariously mispronounce certain locations.
