rtquig, if you invested in the spicy jerky, take my advice and don't eat it all at once. It can cause... adverse effects. Frown

We stop in Bucees on the way back from the beach nowadays each time, the jerky selection makes the traffic hassle worth it.

When I visit family outside of the Houston area, I make sure to return with several bags of Bohemian Garlic Jerky and a few other things.

Need to compare their gas price.

The one in Terrell is usually higher than it is locally for me so I don’t even bother with the gas there but I’ve seen people post the price of others like the one around Denton and it usually lower than other prices in my area.

The biggest Buc-ee's (74K sq ft) is being built in Sevierville, TN. It will supplant the New Braunfels location (66,335 sq ft) as world's largest convenience store/gas station/car wash.

I came across them over the past few years traveling to Texas for business.

For Christmas 2020, the family got matching Bucees pajama bottoms. Our new-to-the-family daughter in law, raised in Texas, was thrilled.

I drive quite a bit, about 28,000 miles since July 2021 and I always stop there. When I travel solo, I don’t stay in hotels. I just sleep in the car. I typically try to time my evenings at a Buc-ee’s because they’re well traveled, clean and they have everything I’d need.

If you're traveling on the freeway for days, Buc cees are an oasis. We thought the big gas stations like Loves were a God send. Buc cees is the promised land. It's like a combination Loves gas station and Wal Mart.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I go back to Berry as often as possible… or at least through Rome, GA on the way to Athens!

I drove past the Wallys in Illinois several times last summer. I wondered if it was a Buc ees, and looked to see if there were any in Illinois. Thanks for clearing this up for me.

The Buc-ee's epicenter appears to be south of Houston to the coast. There's a ton of stores in that area but most are smaller corner convenience store sized. Every Buc-ee's I've been to in the north Texas area is always and I mean always busy. They've got to be toting money out of those places by dump trucks.

I fuel up there often. My office is in Daytona, close to the race-track.

Us FL members need to have a meet up sometime.

Nearly impossible. Just getting from the parking lot to the food bar will take 15+ minutes in most cases.

Probably stop in to the Daytona one next week, being bike week, be up and around there occasionally...

Hit one outside of Mobile off 95, super clean, lots of stuff to buy, plenty of jerky all kinds of flavors and yes, clean bathrooms, which is amazing when you consider the volume ...

Buc ees sues the shit out of small businesses to protect what they perceive to be infringements on their trademarks. It is borderline abusive and very distasteful. They won one (and god knows how) against a barbecue joint which had an alligator logo in a cap, which Buc ees claimed was too similar to their beaver logo. If you build a roadside store in their territory and the name starts with "B" and/or has an animal logo, you are highly likely to get sued.
