I'm not stating a position one way or another, but for the non-lawyers out there, there is a crime-fraud exception to the attorney-client privilege. The privilege may not apply to e-mails if the e-mails constitute evidence of a crime. Therefore, the mere fact that Mueller may possess e-mails that are considered privileged is not an issue with respect to the privilege, if they provide evidence of a crime (and were produced in the commission of that crime).

Are they talking about attorney client privilege or chief executive (presidential) privilege?

They were emails by the president elect team.

Mueller is casting a very wide net--something or somebody is bound to get caught. That's no way to run a prosecution, is it?

The FBI sent a letter (not a subpoena) to GSA requesting copies of the emails, laptops, cell phones associated w 9 members of the transition team. Then another FBI letter requested such materials for 4 more transition team members.

There was no filtering of privileged material.

Oh, CNN, WaPo, and The Failing New York Times are now reporting "news" about President Trump's claims that the transition emails were obtained illegally.

The Washington Post reported on the Kremlin’s statement on the call.
