That article is from November.

That's the point. He was for it when Obama was in office, but crying about it today.

Just typical of this lowest form of filthy scumbag.

Come on McConnell, take a page from your predecessor's book and push all these nominations to a vote. This is becoming asininely ridiculous! The Dem's lost big last time around. Its way past time to get all these nominees in place and move forward with the president's agenda. Just DO IT!

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/0...dept-travel-ban.html

The White House on Monday warned State Department officials that they should leave their jobs if they did not agree with President Trump’s agenda, an extraordinary effort to stamp out a wave of internal dissent against Mr. Trump’s temporary ban on entry visas for people from seven predominantly Muslim countries.

Career officials at the State Department are circulating a so-called dissent cable, which says that Mr. Trump’s executive order closing the nation’s doors to more than 200 million people with the intention of weeding out a handful of would-be terrorists will not make the nation safer, and might instead deepen the threat.

“These career bureaucrats have a problem with it?” Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary, told reporters. “They should either get with the program or they can go.”

******************

"closing our doors to more than 200 million people" sounds good to me

note the NYT article does not mention the order is for 90 days

We have an enormous task in front of us to get rid of leftist radicals in all federal govt agencies. Might be one the biggest aspects of MAGA.

As much as various Establishment Republicans have sometimes criticized the implementation of enhanced vetting, the paralysis of analysis has frozen Washington on so many things - for years.

It is a shame to have bureaucracy halt the protection of our people. Sally Yates exemplifies why President Trump can't trust the bureaucracy to actually move forward. Vetting and protection was needed starting yesterday, last week and years ago. Get on board bureaucrats and find a different speed or get out of the way.

After the nominations were announced Schumer had a timetable that strung all of the confirmations out to like March or April. At this rate that is exactly what it will take. I wish someone would explain to me why the MAJORITY party of the senate is so powerless. Oh I know they are weasels but they are doing the party NO FAVORS by being thoroughly flogged by the democrats.

"So, while we were all reeling from the immigration ban over the weekend, the first military action under Fuhrer Trump was taken...a botched raid in Yemen that killed a US Navy Seal and reportedly killed multiple civilian women and children. The Pentagon lied about it at first and then said that we need to take these killings "with a grain of salt." I'm sure all of you "But Benghazi!" fools are ready to express your outrage, right?
I'll wait..."

One reason...Mitchy McConnell. Although a scumbag, he doesn't have the balls his predecessor did in pushing his party's agenda. That, and I don't truly believe he's on the Trump train.

Look, after all is said and done, the Dems are hurting only themselves. The nominees will be approved and President Trump is moving forward with his agenda.

Give the puerile Democrats plenty of rope. At the end of that rope is the Trump Presidency, whether or not they like it.

Just focus on that. They can play games, but it hurts ony theirselves.

Midterms, gentlemen. When 2018 rolls around, remind your fellow voters of the childish, obstructionist behavior of Democrats.

Payback is a stone bitch, and I'm shooting for a supermajority in Congress in 2018.

Carl Bernstein, the reporter who doggedly hounded President Nixon into resigning, and whose slide into irrelevancy has been nothing short of meteoric, is trying to gain favor with the Left again by proclaiming Trump's firing of Sally Yates is indicative of his presidency "in chaos," and that "it’s apparent to all but his most serious defenders, and those who are his greatest defenders and advocates."

Senator Murphy (D) from Connecticut:

When asked what he would suggest about vetting of immigrants, said:

we should push “a discussion about a pathway in which there is absolutely no screening ” for immigrants

and once they got here, if we were worried about them, make sure they could not get assault weapons.

pretty scary people like this are U.S. senators

let's make sure 2018 is another really bad year for DEMs

Have you noticed in the pictures of immigrants to Europe they are almost all young men?

That would require that he have a pair of balls, which is obvious that he has none.

Just tell schmucky shumer to STFU and get on with business! I am pretty well convinced that he has no idea of what he is supposed to be doing.

And just how do you propose to do that, Senator? Maybe put Hillary in charge of that? (Benghazi, Fast 'n Furious come to mind).

Today, the Seattle Times editorial board predictably excoriated Trump for his Executive Order on immigration from the seven named countries. The board sounded the liberal drumbeat that all immagrants are already vetted.

One reader replied with a comment that was succinct and right on. I share it here:

user104735

Let's work this through.

First, according to the world almanac there are 1.7 billion people who are Muslims while the total population for the countries that are temporarily barred is around 220 million not excluding small Christian populations so less than 15 percent are affected by the ban. This means President Trump still leaves 1.40 billion Muslims admissible to the US. Now let's ask the question of what we should know about an applicant to come to the US.

We should know if they have a criminal record or if they are potential security risks. How do we determine if a person may be wanted for murder or on a local terrorist watch list? The US does not maintain a database for convictions for other countries so our only option is to ask the country of the person seeking to come to the US. The countries listed on the ban appear to fall into two groups. The first group Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Syria are all involved in civil wars where the government is not functioning or in control of large parts of its territory. There is no database to check on the applicant. Compare this with Egypt, Turkey and Jordan with functioning governments and whose citizens are not barred. The second group of Iran and Sudan are countries that are overtly hostile to the US and are unlikely to cooperate in determining if a person is admissible to the US. Iraq is in between these two groups as Iraq has a Kurdish, Sunni and Shia dominated areas and some parts of the country are under strong Iranian influence.

In your long standing hostility to Trump you immediately jump to the worst possible motive rather than looking to the facts such as the actual percentage of Muslims involved nor do you examine the countries affected with those not affected.

The comment immediately drew a large number of "likes," which means that in the interest of free speech (as determined by the newspaper), the reader's comment will probably be "flagged" as offensive and removed any minute now.
