I like how the young Trump Barron is sipping on what I'm assuming is a hot chocolate. Whenever I'm outside at an event in the cold, I never feel right unless I'm sipping on a coffee or hot chocolate. Smile

Speaking of sipping on a drink, it's about that time to start mixing up some Old Fashioneds or Manhattans. Can't decide which one I want.

Man I could watch this all night!

The concert last night gave me a very "Fourth of July" vibe, which is my absolute favorite holiday. So good.

After all this time in this shoes, you would think it would be the opposite.

Indeed I though the same thing. Anyone know how they chose what service escorts who? I swear at the innauguration a Naval Officer escorted the vice president's wife, and a Marine Officer escorted the First Lady. Now at the parade a Naval enlisted man was with the VP and Marine enlisted was with the President.

I don't know. Just something I noticed. Or think I did.

Yes. It was a Navy CDR with Mrs. Pence. A Marine Captain escorted Mrs. Trump, as I observed earlier, a day he will never forget, and maybe not wash his jacket, either.

How they draw that duty, I have no idea. I thought I had used up a lot of my lifetime supply of good luck when I got shore duty in Coronado as a brand new Ensign in the middle of the VN war!

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Is it proper for Pence? Neither Trump nor Pence are military, but Trump is head of state, CIC. The Veep is neither.

Is it just imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?

I think Pence was just gratitude. His son is a commissioned officer in the Marines. The man is a patriot.

I'll let it slide Smile

I am NOT going to count the number of drinks I have tonight. I did manage to get to watch Pence and Trump being sworn in. And I caught Trump's speech. Compare what he said with the outgoing numnutz. Trump used a lot of "you" and "we", as opposed to the years of "I"/"me"/"mine". Refreshing.

And the theme song from Team America kept running through my head.

Proper or not I will bet it is appreciated.

The Talladega college marching band was awesome.

I was very impressed with that school's leadership (a mostly all black school) pushing back against those saying that they shouldn't attend for political reasons. Good for them for teaching their students that this goes beyond politics.

The bands and music, heck the whole event has been a huge success. Thoroughly enjoyed and recorded it as well. Watching with the family. Smile

I'll be joining the rest of you toasting Trump and friends shortly. The evening should be very interesting as the night goes on. I suspect there will be some emotionally charged, slurred, and /or incoherent posts. Big Grin
