Ah, yes: “Stop, or I’ll say ‘Stop’ again!”

As I alluded above, that doesn’t mean I know what else can/should be done other than say “Stop!” again, but it does express my view of where we are and how we got here. And of course I didn’t solicit the responsibility of deciding what to do and am not being paid to decide what to do—unlike other people who have no idea what to do—so I don’t mind making that admission.

Putin is NOT going to use nukes.

He's only 'threatening' their use to scare the sheep. One article I read stated that he is moving SS-27 mobile ICBMs 'towards Ukraine.' Well, it is physically impossible for an SS-27 to hit Ukraine right next to the Russian border. According to Wiki, it has a 2000 km MINIMUM range (1200 miles, give or take). It would be easier to launch it into orbit, send it all around the world and strike Ukraine after making a complete orbit. . . Russia has many other nuclear weapons systems that would be much more effective to strike Ukraine (cruise missiles, air-dropped munitions, etc).

BUT, the news is all buzzing about 'starting nuclear war.' IF Putin is serious about this, it really shows weakness, not strength. I mean, if he needs nukes to take Ukraine, that means his conventional forces are really lame. It's all over the news; "RUSSIA PLACES NUCLEAR FORCES ON HIGH ALERT" blah blah blah. Everybody is talking nukes. It is a distraction meant to divert our attention away from how poorly Russian forces are actually doing there (Ukraine taking back that city was a HUGE development).

But he isn't seriously considering nukes, and he never has. If they used nukes, not even China could really support Russia. But, it sells newspapers and air time for the news networks, so that's all they are talking about. It also serves as a reminder to scare countries and voters from advocating for direct military action against Russia.

Tom Clancy had a great line in one of his books. He said that rattling a sabre makes a lot of noise, but drawing one does not. Meaning, this is sabre-rattling. It is meant to be seen, and is simply posturing and a show of strength. If Putin was SERIOUSLY considering using nukes, the first we would hear/see of it would be the mushroom cloud.

Always a good reminder.

The First Casualty of War is the Truth.

If you have never experienced the propaganda push surrounding war, the totality of the inbound bullsh*t can be destabilizing, overwhelming and unnerving. It’s one of the reasons why CTH doesn’t share immediate information. Everyone has an agenda.

Good examples of this are provided in their article linked below.

Link

From the article:

"The stories of the 13 guards on an island telling the Russian naval ship to fuck off… yeah, it was a lie (turns out they surrendered). The “Ghost of Kyiv” pilot, the lady with the sunflower seeds etc., now all recognized as lies and propaganda. And do not expect it to stop, because it won’t. Thus, the nature of warfare for your mind."

I thought the 1-day ace story was a bit much, and now it is claimed to have been propaganda. Along with the other stories. The reality is we don't know what's happening. Every report is suspect. Both Russia and Ukraine are going to put out fake stories to make their side look better. Video clips and photos may or may not be of actual events happening now.

IMHO anyone who thinks everyone's nuke forces haven't been on high alert since this started is kidding themselves.

The thing is, this smells of desperation (of one kind or another) to me because by definition both sides are gambling on whether the other will go to nuclear war over Ukraine, and I don't believe Ukraine is worth a nuclear confrontation to either side.

The fake guns.

Maybe training. There is a uniformed soldier to the left.

They are using mock rifles to train civilians, in large numbers.

It can be anything from truth, propaganda or cheap money shot for a film crew.

Putin and nuke alert.

I think he is trying to play the "madman" card.

Considering the people's of the east are big on superstition, rhetoric, bravado, propaganda, and many of the world have been drifting into that same mindset over the years. (what happens when people become less educated and more ignorant)

Since the news media is controlled by the Democrats, all info is suspect.
When was the last time Democrats did anything positive for the United States ? Since they seem to be pushing for involvement, it must be a terrible idea. I worry the end of the dollar is the goal and it is near.

What were the gun laws in Ukraine prior to the invasion? Was it common for average citizens to have weapons?

The details of the things I note are often somewhat vague and because I don’t like to be uncertain when I say something, there are, believe it or not, many things I don’t say.

But read enough about topics like military conflicts and how they start, and it’s impossible to not form general impressions even if I often forget the specific details. I’m not making any of the grand predictions with no evidence to support them that are so common, but it does feel good to express my concerns for the state of the Nation, the world, and the future. And I figure that if it’s acceptable to obsess over the measures total strangers on the other side of the world observe to help prevent the spread of a possibly debilitating disease, it should be all right for me to wonder if I’ll be able to eat wild berries in Norway next summer.*

* I’m not really planning to do that, but if I were and couldn’t, it would be an indication of some far more serious issues that I had hoped to not have to worry about for the rest of my lifetime.
>Cue the predictions.<

It suddenly dawned on me that the potential biggest winners are the Chinese.

A week or so ago everybody was thinking about all the bad stuff involving China, Covid source, cheating in every sort of way, threat to Taiwan, Japan, etc.

So they sort of halfheartedly encouraged this Russian invasion but left themselves with an easy out and will likely hang Putin out to dry as things turn sour. The truth is that Russia is really an enemy to them as much as we are.

Now, Putin will get so much blow-back from the world or possibly get taken out by his closest allies if they feel enough heat themselves. Even the weakest of the Europeans are starting to finally wake up to the threat.
If he stays in power, the US and Europeans will have to focus a lot more money and effort towards countering Russia and will have less to use against China.
Russia may need to sell their oil to China at a discount if they are squeezed out of the world market and need the cash.

The next few weeks will be an interesting time that could be pivotal for the next decades.

^^^ China plays the long game, partially because the CCP doesn't have to worry about losing elections. But they can also make major blunders because there is no opposition, and delivering bad news to the boss may result in negative consequences.

As I said before, it is now obvious that western environmentalists are being funded by eastern governments so that we kill our own manufacturing and energy production and depend on them. And westerners are too gullible to see it when it is staring them in the face. Always ask "who benefits"? And increasingly, the answer is always the same - China.

After the Soviet Union fell, the commies infiltrated the environmental movement, and now, the racial equity movement. I'll bet they are funding a bunch of the silly transgender stuff too.
