Russian warship off Snake Island:
"This is a military warship. This is a Russian military warship. I suggest you lay down your weapons and surrender to avoid bloodshed and needless casualties. Otherwise, you will be bombed."

Ukrainians on Snake Island:
"Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Not quite as poetic as Molon Labe, but effective.

We may disagree over the content yet much of what American's understand about world events isn't well informed nor based on the facts. I would suggest that if sources I list aren't familiar, that looking into other sources of news outside a closed echo chamber might be in order.

After five years of tracking these events, I've found that most of the time what some call trash or conspiracy theory is actually just plot spoilers of the future, which become true. Censorship is a traditional reaction of a closed mind or those with an agenda, like FB, Twitter, etc. Shutting off the flow in small areas hasn't stopped the truth yet.

Do we need to list all the things once called trash now proven fact? Of very recent note, the Russia Russia conspiracy that Trump was Putins soyboy. Yet who has backed down from Putin? Biden. Even NATO has declared no immediate response will be taken. One issue is that the Ukraine isn't a NATO partner, no "jurisdiction" or binding agreements.

In a country were free speech is not only tolerated but also part of the fabric of life, we can agree to disagree and exchange facts and points of view. It's also why the 2A exists - and the 1A is used to defend it a lot more than the 2A defends the 1st. You have to have one to have the other.

Those that restrict or control the 1st Amendment because the facts or an opinion are different aren't representing the Constitution. We don't have to like what others say, but we can rebut and show where it's false. Censorship is just weakness.

All this week I have been thinking how nice it would be if a couple hundred thousand Westinghouse 1891 Mosins with fixed optics and a few train cars of russian sniper ammo were to appear in western Ukraine. I hope those men kill half of pug nose putins ground forces.

I have appreciated your contributions to this forum, but you are making a mistake. Censorship is an undertaking of the government, not private individuals. It would profit you more to bury any pride and carry on with the discussion within the parameters that the owner of this site has established. Arguing with someone while standing on their lawn will only get you escorted off of it, if you catch my meaning.

In a world where we've quickly learned to not trust any source blindly, established credibility is king. It hasn't led into an echo chamber yet.

That entire argument is illogical. It’s similar to trying to make the case of police corruption by saying “this, this and this cop is corrupt, do I need to probe to you further they all are?”

Despite the evidence that some information that was claimed by the left to be a conspiracy theory, and later proved correct, that all information posted on the internet gets a pass because later on down the road it “could possibly, maybe, sorta be proved correct on a Sunday in August”.

Whackadoodle stuff is still whackadoodle.

Not to mention the moderators here decide what stays and goes, as well as who stays and goes. None of us get a vote in it.

Wow, how profound. You know what might help you out a lot right now? Understanding the nature and purpose of the First Amendment. You might want to go back and read the text of that amendment. It does not apply in this place, which is not controlled by the government. This is is private property. I choose to make it publicly accessible, but this is private property, and the First Amendment simply does not come into play. As the owner of this forum, I am free to allow or disallow any content I so choose, and I choose to disallow paranoid, unfounded, conspiracy-driven comments. This is nothing new. Over the years, I have been entirely consistent on such things.

Look, you had a post deleted. Stop trying to make it into a Constitutional issue, and spare me the lectures about the dangers of censorship. There is not an internet discussion forum in existence, which is worth one's participation, that doesn't have moderators and limits upon what one may say, and if you think I have any obligation to "rebut" conspiracy theories, you have another thing coming. And trying to say that because this is a firearms discussion forum, then, we should be especially mindful of "censorship" and your misapplication of the First Amendment, is a clumsy tack to take, and it's all been done many times before.

This stuff you're throwing up in a somewhat sideways fashion is old hat. I've heard this argument many times. If you think a discussion forum can be free of any censorship, well, this just shows that you don't know the first thing about the nature of and the day-to-day management of places such as this. Suck it up. If you don't care for how this place is run, you should wander about online for a while and search in vain for a place which allows you to say whatever you wish. You'd better pack a lunch.

Amazing interview of a U of Kyiv professor on Fox right now. He sounds very western but he is describing how the residents were fighting the Russians. Pulling them out of armored personnel carriers and shooting them, shooting paratroopers as they landed and in the air. He said these were not military but just regular Ukrainians. At one point some Russian para's got lost and asked for directions and they were captured and turned over to the UK military. He said they are holding their own, they are determined, but they desperately need air power.

Amazing.

Anyone arms themselves and jumps out of an airplane with the intent of bearing those arms to me or my fellow countrymen, better think, while gearing up, that if he jumps in my range, I'm gonna send as much of my stash in his direction while he's swinging in his sky hammock and shitting himself.

Just in case anyone thinks that might be morally repugnant, (as well as dragging out and shooting the enemy, I settled my conscience on that long ago.

Have no fear, Sean Penn is on the job. (NOT Babylon Bee)

As battle raged in Ukraine, Sean Penn was on the scene.

The politically active actor was spotted Thursday in the first row of a press briefing in Kyiv, where high-ranking Ukrainian officials were discussing the day’s invasion by Russia — and in a meeting with the country’s president.

The 61-year-old “Dead Man Walking” star has apparently been working on a documentary about escalating tensions in the country since last year, and flew to Ukraine early this week to get a firsthand look at the war.

Watching the video of men grabbing weapons, I can’t help but think some of these men remember the oppressive weight of the iron curtain and have no intention of living that way ever again. This may be their own Red Dawn.
