That would not prevent the U.S. from setting up a second layer of prescreen security, even if they had to move the gate inward to accomplish this.

Riddle as Pentagon now says there was only ONE bomb blast in suicide attack that killed 13 US troops and reveals 'thousands' of ISIS-K prisoners were freed from Bagram by the Taliban 12 days ago after Biden abandoned base

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne...uding-13-troops.html

Pentagon officials said on Friday that there was only one suicide bomber at Kabul airport on Thursday and not two, as previously claimed, adding to confusion over the attack and fears for the ongoing operation on the ground.

Speaking at a briefing on Friday, Army General Hank Taylor said: 'I can confirm that we do not believe there was a second explosion at or near the Baron hotel. It was one suicide bomber. In the confusion of very dynamic events can cause information to get confused,' he said.

He did not say whether the bomb that went off was car bomb or bomber in a vest. Both were described on Thursday on the ground and by Washington officials. The Pentagon's Press Secretary, John Kirby, was among those who confirmed both of the blasts.

At the same briefing on Friday, Kirby revealed that thousands of terrorists from ISIS-K, the group responsible for the attack at the airport, escaped from Bagram prison earlier this summer after Biden's troops cleared out from the base, leaving it to outnumbered Afghan forces to supervise them.

US troops suddenly abandoned the base overnight on July 2. The prisoners were filmed being freed by the Taliban on August 15. Military experts have pinpointed the sudden, overnight withdrawal of US troops from Bagram on July 2 as the moment the US gave Afghanistan away.

Since Thursday, the US has only evacuated 300 Americans from Kabul but up to 1,000 remain stranded. The government claims not everyone wants to leave but they can't get in touch with everyone to check.

General Taylor also revealed on Friday that the US is sharing the names of citizens and Afghan allies with the Taliban, but claims it is so the fighters ensure they can get through to the airport.

Former President Donald Trump said on Thursday night that it equates to giving them a 'kill list' of enemies and where to find them.

There is growing frustration among DC politicians who are now calling for Biden to be impeached or resign.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Friday the President must face a 'day of reckoning' for how he has handled the situation.

more on the ISIS-K

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...ers-released-taliban

The Pentagon said that "thousands" of ISIS Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) prisoners were freed by the Taliban during their takeover of Afghanistan in the days leading up to the bombing near the Kabul airport, which killed 13 U.S. service members Thursday.

During a press briefing Friday, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby responded to a question from Fox News' Jennifer Griffin about how many prisoners were released from the prison at Bagram, Afghanistan, and why they were not removed before the U.S. pulled out its troops.

"How many ISIS-K prisoners were left at Bagram and are believed to have been released from the prison there, and why weren't they removed before the U.S. pulled out to some place like GTMO?" asked Griffin, referring to the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.

"Well, I don't know the exact number. Clearly, it's in the thousands when you consider both prisons, because both of them were taken over by the Taliban and emptied. But I couldn't give you a precise figure," responded Kirby.

"And as for emptying out, remember we were turning things over to Afghan national security forces, that was part of the retrograde process, was to turn over these responsibilities. And so they did have responsibility for those prisons and the bases at which those prisons were located. And of course as the Taliban advanced, we didn't see the level of resistance by the Afghans to hold some territory, some bases, and unfortunately those were the bases the Afghans didn't hold."

"But all of those responsibilities were turned over in accordance with the retrograde plan back frame," said Kirby.

ISIS-K, a more local branch of the global Islamic State of Iraq (ISIS) network, is presumed responsible for the deadly suicide bombing attack in Kabul Thursday.

I read a report previously that said the U.S. didn't inform the Afghan commander at Bagram that the U.S. was leaving. The U.S. left in the night and the Afghan commander found out when he woke up

https://apnews.com/article/bag...567593251aaaa167e623

The U.S. left Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield after nearly 20 years by shutting off the electricity and slipping away in the night without notifying the base’s new Afghan commander, who discovered the Americans’ departure more than two hours after they left, Afghan military officials said.

While I take any press briefing with many grains of salt, apparent slavish devotion to a talking point from the political side demeans the Pentagon.....

Yes, "laser focused", "over-the-horizon", etc....

Cool buzzwords that seemingly make them appear smarter than you and completely engaged. Anyone with a brain knows better.

Unfortunately, now we get to hear every commentator use them for the foreseeable future. Roll Eyes

It still corrals people into a large group, standing around, waiting....

If you want to take out a large group, well... There it is.

Think of a "Walmart" on Black Friday before the doors open, there's a ton of people in the lot all waiting to get through those doors. And it's just about as organized.

There's only so many troops there to do the processing and filter-out all the hanger-ons. The majority are there for security, then you got a handful to do the processing, escort those allowed in and further get them processed for transport. Remember these are processes set-up and outlined by State.

There's social feed posts coming out that former SF NCO and MMA fighter Tim Kennedy droped-off several buses of Afghans at one of the gates, after all the processing and verifying, it turns out only 4 out of the 200 were eligible. IF true...f-ing clown show. This already is an all-timers but, with people muddling-up the overall situation who should be knowledgable enough to know better....smh

This administration is just about beyond description

https://www.foxnews.com/politi...ghanistan-evacuation

what did the Sergeant Major of the Army Michael Grinston tweet out at 8:53am 26 Aug 2021 ?

"Diversity is a number - do you have people that don’t look or think like you in the room? Inclusion is listening and valuing those people.

#WomensEqualityDay reminds us we’re smarter and more lethal when we come together as an inclusive, cohesive team. Our values demand it."

Grinston, according to his biography on the U.S. Army’s website, serves as the Army chief of staff's "personal adviser on matters affecting the enlisted force," devoting "the majority of his time traveling throughout the Army to observe training and interact with Soldiers and their Families."

The official Twitter account for the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command echoed Grinston's remarks, writing, "Inclusion & Diversity is what makes our [U.S. Army] better."

Grinston's tweet was met with immense criticism from several social media users who questioned his priorities as the Afghanistan evacuation crisis continues.

Not arguing that this is a clown show; of historic proportions.

However, It would not surprise me in the least if every one of those 200 were eligible but in the ever changing rules, or just sheer incompetence of State, were suddenly and inexplicably, deemed ineligible.

In fact, I find that to be the most likely explanation at this point.

There are now names, faces, and stories to go with the initial loss of life reports. Rylee McCollum from Bondurant, Wyoming is among the Marines killed in Kabul.

quote:
Roice McCollum, Rylee's older sister, said he was expecting a baby in three weeks.

"He wanted to be a Marine his whole life and carried around his rifle in his diapers and cowboy boots," McCollum's sister said. "He was determined to be in infantry... Rylee wanted to be a history teacher and a wrestling coach when he finished serving his country. He's a tough, kind, loving kid who made an impact on everyone he met. His joke and wit brought so much joy.

"Rylee will always be a hero not just for the ultimate sacrifice he made for our country, but for the way he impacted every life around him for the better. Making us stronger, kinder, teaching us to love deeper," Roice McCollum said.

With the Taliban growing more violent and adding checkpoints near Kabul's airport, an all-volunteer group of American veterans of the Afghan war launched a final daring mission on Wednesday night dubbed the "Pineapple Express" to shepherd hundreds of at-risk Afghan elite forces and their families to safety, members of the group told ABC News.

Moving after nightfall in near-pitch black darkness and extremely dangerous conditions, the group said it worked unofficially in tandem with the United States military and U.S. embassy to move people, sometimes one person at a time, or in pairs, but rarely more than a small bunch, inside the wire of the U.S. military-controlled side of Hamid Karzai International Airport.

He was laughing at Doocy for his questions, note that they pulled the microphone from Doocy on his follow-up, he was smirking yet the press try's to play it as he was weeping for the people he endangered .. he is a sociopath, and it was clear before he was elected he has those tendencies...

Buydem and Pizaki have worked a plan to get Doocy to ask a question then make him look the fool. It's a marked attempt to hurt the right and their press representative, you'll note how all the leftist media laugh when Buydem barks back at Doocy.

Don't mistake these visual and verbal retorts as getting to Buydem, it's all part of their plan on how to handle the Right and blame game on Trump..

And the left eats it up as truth..
