What can the Taliban do with the aircraft left behind, planes and helicopters are complicated. Can they actually operate them and if so can they maintain them for very long?

My thought is they would do best to sell them to more sophisticated psychopaths like Iran and China for the purpose of reverse engineering the tech. Is this their best/only option to get some value from the hardware left behind?

I expect they can use the small arms and such until they run out of nato ammo….

And thats the primary concern.

I got briefed earlier this week on what was left. I recommended they start dropping JDAMs.

^^^^^^^ A guy I work with was showing me videos of what we left behind. It's amazing the amount of small arms and tens of MILLIONS of dollars worth if uncirculated $100 bills.

It's almost like it was a payoff to the Taliban. For what, I don't know but it surely is criminal in my book. Anyone associated with this fiasco should be locked up and waiting for their turn to swing in the gallows...

Oh shit.....the progressive dimocrap St. Louis Mayor has requested that St. Louis City take and house over one thousand Afghans (which is not playing well with some of her "supporters" as they don't want to share their slice of free shit).......after a couple months here, the Afghans will want to go back:

Murder Rate in Afghanistan (before Taliban Take Over, as I doubt up to date stats will be available): 6.7 per 100,000

Murder Rate in St. Louis City: 87 per 100,000.

Taliban forces reportedly repeatedly rejected one man’s Australian passport, insisting it was “fake” or invalid. The Associated Press suggested “many of the Taliban fighters could not read the documents” they were rejecting.

57 % of Afghans can't read or write. It is so disgusting watching these taliban ignorant thugs beating people. and knowing worse is yet to come

And now we know why members of NATO are so mad at Biden. He totally lied to them.

In June, he promised them that US forces would remain to keep the situation stable in Afghanistan as NATO withdrew its forces. The UK thought they could keep their embassy open as a result. Well, flashforward to August and it’s the wasteland from Mad Max.

As for the security guarantee Biden made, the timeline is important. The G7 was held from June 11-13. Just three weeks later, U.S. forces bugged out of Bagram air base, a decision the Pentagon is still struggling to explain

The warning to leave Afghanistan went out in early August. It occurs to me that if the Americans had taken it to heart and immediatlely left the country, as advised, we wouldn't have this problem (or it would be much less severe).

There's no mitigating this disaster. On top of being a man in early stages of senile dementia, Joe Biden is a bald-faced liar and a coward, a genuine, no doubt about it coward.

His so-called frank manor that the press thought was endearing & sincere, and many people thought was honest, I always believed to be a farce. He embodies and personifies the full of shit politician. His career and largely his life, is a shining example of all that we dispise about politicians.

Biden's been lying in D.C. for over forty years, but he never got good at it.

And his enablers, like Brian Williams- the clip we saw from MSNBC, after Biden "owned up" to this debacle by plagiarizing Harry Truman with his farcical "The buck stops with me". Brian Williams, nearly falling into his own vagina in an effort to prop up this slobbering vegetable, saying "Well, you heard it! He owned up to it!"

No, he did not. He most certainly did not, has not, nor will he ever admit to what he's done. All he did was mouth some words which mean nothing to anyone.

Never has taken responsibility for his mistakes. Never. Mad

And, remind us, Brian Williams, how you lost your anchor job? By LYING, that's how. Do you even recognize the truth anymore?

Seriously. We currently know where most of the stuff is at, that will change very quickly. Why not give 1 hour warning then blow it all up? If they choose not to vacate the area, not our problem.

If there were no Americans left in that garbage dump of a country, I'd say yes, by all means, let's bomb the ever-loving shit out of it, but if we start that now, the Taliban will use this as pretense to hold Americans hostage and for ransom, and then end up killing them anyway after the weakest POTUS this nation has ever seen gladly doles out (more) mountains of cash to these psychopaths.

some local American initiative

https://www.armytimes.com/flas...e-the-kabul-airport/

A group of 169 Americans were airlifted from a hotel outside the Kabul airport on Thursday, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed to reporters Friday, one of a very limited number of actions that U.S. troops have undertaken outside of the Hamid Karzai International Airport walls since a contingent of 6,000 began deploying last week.

President Joe Biden first spoke of the mission during an address on Friday, in which he described “military assets” bringing Americans “over the wall” of the airport.

“... the original plan was for the Americans to gather themselves up at the Baron [Hotel] and walk through the Abbey gate. The gate is right here. So you can see from the hotel to the gate,” Kirby said. “... but there was a large crowd established outside the Abbey gate ― a crowd, that, that not everybody had confidence in, in terms of their ability to walk through it. And so, local commanders on the scene took the initiative and flew these helicopters out there to pick them up.”

Three Army CH-47 Chinooks fetched the Americans from a landing zone at the hotel, Kirby said, then dropped them at the airport for processing. He could not confirm whether they had since been flown out of Afghanistan.

The extraction was the first time U.S. officials have confirmed that troops have been operating outside the walls of the airport.

“... but there have been, on occasion, have been people walked in,” Kirby said. “People walking up, and not necessarily going to the right place and soldiers have helped them outside the perimeter of the airport get to where they need to go.”

The group was encouraged to come to the Baron by another nation , Kirby said, though he declined to say which one. That country’s officials had established security at the hotel, he added, then contacted American officials to make them aware of the group.

The French and British have reportedly been extracting their citizens in Kabul. The U.S. so far has stuck mostly to the airport, though Biden left the door open on Friday to further missions outside the wire.

We’re going to do everything that we can to provide safe evacuation for our Afghan allies, partners, and Afghans who might be targeted because of their association with the United States,” he said in his second national address this week on the chaotic situation in Afghanistan.

Maj. Gen. Hank Taylor, deputy director of the Joint Staff for regional operations, told Military Times that the U.S. had not yet begun negotiating with the Taliban to assure safety for troops who might attempt rescue missions in the city.

I loathe to say this, and God I hope I’m wrong, wrong more than I have ever been; those Americans our fellow countrymen are done. Biden and this administration will not make any attempt like the Brits to rescue our citizens. They are doomed. The Taliban will kill them regardless of ransom or trade, after Bagram fell we have little to trade. I pray I’m wrong, but this feckless, demented, coward has the greatest fighters at his disposal who would go and get our people, but it won’t happen and he will never unleash the big dogs to take care of business. Those poor souls, this is not the country I served, we are leaving our own behind and sadly close to half of America are ok with it.

I'm not suggesting bombing the country, only our left behind assets and with a fair warning. I'd guess though that blowing up our own shit would probably piss them off.

Fuck I hate this situation. Proper planning could have emptied the country of citizens and allowed us to take what was important and demo what wasn't practical to take.

How do you execute something like this without consideration for the US citizens or weapons left behind?

Benghazi, Vietnam, or Iran may end up paling in comparison to what might unfold in the next week.

That's what I meant- bombing the stuff we left behind. As soon at the first bomb falls, Americans will begin to die.

If Incompetent Joe feels crowded by this pesky situation, just wait until the Taliban start beheading Americans in live streams on the web; impeachment, 25th Amendment, or resignation.

BTW, I notice there's not much commentary on the idea of Kamala Harris being POTUS, and this is understandable. Given the current situation, I think it's critical to get Biden out of office ASAP, and with the way this disaster is unfolding and shall continue to unfold, Harris is a dead ho walkin'. No second term. Hell, maybe not even the nomination.

Stop it.
Keep your powder dry and your wits about you, we've got a lot of good folks over there, who know the situation and are working to get our folks out. Our troops are trained for this, the most sought after mission is shooting bad guys in the face, the second most sought after mission is rescuing Americans who are in-peril. Hold steady and remember all of those got us into this situation, Biden maybe the face, but his underlings are the ones who whispered in his ear what to do and ignored the necessary information, remember who they are.
