Here you go - Times of London political cartoon - mocking Joe

President Joe Biden’s image is now literally falling into disgrace as the Times of London holds him up for ridicule.

On Wednesday, the Times published a cartoon by Morten Morland that runs through a series of rather prune-faced G-7 leaders of Britain, Japan, Germany, Canada, Italy and France. All of the images are a setup for the final panel, which shows Biden kneeling with his hands behind his back and flanked by two very large Taliban gunmen.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

edit. I thought this was just a few months ago, but after para asked when it was, it turns out it was last year.

https://www.washingtonexaminer...-afghanistan-debacle

CBS News’s Margaret Brennan pressed the president last year to clarify what, exactly, he meant when he told then-special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke in 2010, “I am not sending my boy back there to risk his life on behalf of women’s rights! It just won’t work. That’s not what they’re there for.”

Biden responded, saying international bodies such as the United Nations should adjudicate human rights violations, not combat troops.

“Don't you bear some responsibility for the outcome if the Taliban ends up back in control and women end up losing their rights?” asked Brennan.

“No, I don't,” Biden answered bluntly. “Look, are you telling me that we should go into China because — go to war with China because what they're doing to the Uyghurs, a million Uyghurs, in the — out in the west in concentration camps? Is that what you're saying to me?”

Brennan said, “It was your quote, sir. I was asking you what you meant.”

“Do I bear responsibility? Zero responsibility. The responsibility I have is to protect America's national self-interest. … That's my responsibility as president,” said Biden.

so as it applies to the events of now, it is misleading

I'm at the point of thinking that Biden thinks he's doing a good job, so do the lackeys in his administration.

As far as the American people who voted for Droolin Joe, I don't think they care or have any understanding of the situation. As was stated before by CSLINGER- "At least we got rid of the Orange Guy". And that's all they care about.
"Orange man bad, Orange man gone, Yayyy us!"

Unless they have an immediate family member in the military, I think that they watch this on TV and kind of mindlessly go "Oh, that's too bad", but have more "sympathy/empathy" for that fucking turtle with the straw in his nose than any sort of realization of how important getting back ALL the Americans; Civilian and Military back in one piece.

We're kind of in an "echo chamber" here on Sig Forum. We all are from slightly right to really right on the political scale, we all understand the importance of things like the Constitution, Laws, getting our people out of harms way... But as I look around, I see a whole ton of clueless twits that either don't care or don't know.

I just really want to jam it down their throats when there's an Biden Impeachment hearing every other month!

Ultimately, yes.
In reality, his head should be rolling with a lot of others!

What appalls me is the magnitude of apathy, indifference, and ignorance of the American people who will give these events little, if any, thought.

I can’t express in words my anger, disgust, and disappointment at this time.

Biden Blames Generals for Abandoning Bagram Air Base: Admin ‘May Have’ Given Taliban a List of Stranded Americans.

Guess this is the General which Joe was speaking of today when he said the Generals said they did not need Bagram Air Base.
Wonder if Milley told Joe to give the Taliban list of stranded Americans as well.

I am saddened beyond my own belief at the loss of these Marines and their corpsman. The day long dribble of the casualty count at 2 or 4 or now 8 then 11 and how many more, is in itself a commentary on the clueless nature of this ill-begotten enterprise.
I am saddened for their parents, wives, children that are terrified that their phone will ring tonight and that it is all so needless, only the pompous posturing of pampered princes and their puppet. Everything, everything is downstream of politics for those people.

Just saw Republican Congressman Mike Garcia (CA) on Fox News- he said the current operation to evac Americans from Kabul is being run by the State Department.
I couldnt think of a more inept US Department for this type of operation than the State Dept. What a joke.

There is no question, there's a not insignificant chunk of the electorate who have this line of thinking.

"Well, AT LEAST its not Trump. He was horrible"

There's zero equivalence, absolutely none.

Afghanistan has been run by State for 15+ years. Once all the major offensive ops concluded, State became the senior US gov institution. Besides Kabul, State can't figure out what to do with the people they've flown out of Afghanistan, as they languish in the heat in Qatar.

The majority of the this debacle falls on State and their continued inability to plan contingencies and manage crises. Benghazi SHOULD'VE been the wake-up call regarding overseas threats. They did form OpMed Group (try not to throw up over the article and pictures) to handle medical issue of overseas American's; they grew under Trump but, got kicked around and buried internally under Biden/Blinkin. Diplomatic Security Services got no help from Hillary and her paralysis during Benghazi, zero overhaul or, reworking of security set-up was enacted nor was their standing elevated when threats were possible; their issues were largely minimized.

State is stellar at set-up parties and political meetings but, is unable to get out of its way when things start to crumble or, become stressful.
