I was a Spec's yesterday and the 'bourbon guy' told me that there is a bourbon shortage happening now. Hipsters or whoever it be, there is a high demand.

That is Otay. More rye for Mr. K.

this has been becoming increasingly worse over the last five years, largely due to the explosive growth / resurgence of Bourbon as a whole, and greatly exacerbated by Justified the show yammering on about Pappy this and that to millions of viewers for a few seasons now. Yea! for the industry and the Van Winkles but it sucks for loyal fans / enthusiasts.

I used to consistently buy 2+ mixed cases of Van Winkle each year, and now I have to work my ass off ans call in favors to barely score 1cs a year.

Woe is me ans all.

#FirstWorldProblems

Thankfully, I love Rye too.

Talisker, mighty fine dram. Fall is whiskey season.
Finished the HP Oktoberfest tonight and popped a top on the Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout. Well three tops. ABV, 10.2%... whoops.
Lots of snoring tonight.

Some McAFEE's Benchmark Old No. 8 in some Cheerwine. Bottom shelf, but palatable. Odd smell that I can't place, though. Like brown sugar combined with that smell I can't identify.

Victory Moon Glow, once again. I got a case of it tonight. An 8.7 abv weizenbock, but doesn't feel heavy and filling, like a lot of bocks often do. Plus, it's delicious!

Excellent choice! I'm working down a bottle of Lagavulin 16 but when it's time to replenish the Scotch inventory I'm gonna get some of this 18 to augment the Laphrhoig 10. Shitty podunk Montana State run liquor store doesn't carry much variety, but it's still 100X better than my past 30 years in Kommiefornia.

It was Bowmore 15 "Darkest" for me last night.
