I love the Podcast of the Lotus Eaters. One of the hosts is Carl Benjamin, who is known on youtube as Sargon of Akkad. Really on-point commentary from these guys in the UK, always a pleasure to watch.

In this segment, Benjamin notes that Musk is considering making Twitter mostly remote, with a global headquarters in Miami. Isn't that just delicious? Cool

BTW, Carl Benjamin is one of the people who has been banned from Twitter and something tells me he will be back.

It's only going to get better, folks. Much better. Cool

She’s had a bunch of one sentence tweets that are awesome….

Nancy Pelosi is a drunk
Joe Biden is a racist who eulogized a KKK leader.
Hunter Biden is a crackhead.
Black on black crime is a greater problem than white supremacy.
The only systemic racism that exists in this country is against white people.

It's not lost on most anyone on the right that EVERY DAMN ONE of those Sara Gonzales tweets would have got you removed from twatter just a few short days ago, yet the left just can't seem to figure out how to move forward when you are actually "allowed" to speak the truth.

Remember that only about 22% of American adults use Twitter, and of those people a mere 10% of *them* do 80% of all tweeting. Right... only 10% of only 22% of American adults are responsible for 80% of *all tweets*. It's a tiny, tiny, group, of primarily Democrats, and primarily folks in their 20s and 30s, doing the tweeting.

Or at least that's been the case, heretofore, in the pre-Elon era of the company.

Be interesting to see if and how these things change now and moving forward.

Twitter will eventually fade into irrelevance like Usenet, Friendster, Myspace, Meta, etc, etc. They all turn to shit, it's inevitable

I hate offended people. They come in two flavours - huffy and whiny - and it's hard to know which is worst. The huffy ones are self-important, narcissistic authoritarians in love with the sound of their own booming disapproval, while the whiny, sparrowlike ones are so annoying and sickly and ill-equipped for life on Earth you just want to smack them round the head until they stop crying and grow up.

Disagree. Those were all early forerunners to social media then along came Facebook, Instagram Twitter and a few others that cemented social media into the culture fabric. There may be others that come along but I think these are the stalwarts that are going to be around long term.

People just can't get enough of themselves and social media is what scratches the itch of the addiction.

Do we know for a fact that that is not a parody account? Don't get me wrong- I have seen this type of bizarre statement several times since all this began, but the way it is stated in this "realtworoosters" account tweet is such blatant nonsense, it's difficult to believe it was posted in earnest.

Several times, Musk has stated that by free speech he means free speech within the limits of the law. IOW, there are things which are not protected speech, such as threatening the POTUS, or declaring you are going to murder someone or harm their family, etc.

It's obvious what they are worried about. They are worried about people saying things such as voicing their opinions which may offend or "trigger" leftists. Well, tough shit, cupcake. People are entitled to their opinions and those opinions are not dependent upon your approval.

The Twit @realworoosters must have deleted his Twitter account in embarrassment, because it appears to exist no longer

I did my best to go through that account yesterday and he/she posts 10x a day and it's so scatter-brained, I couldn't get a sense of intent or sentiment. I don't believe it to be clearly parody or I wouldn't have shared.
