Who cares what type of knot it is? It may not even be a slip knot so why the fixation on that? The average person doesn't know a slip knot from a square knot from a clove hitch or bowline etc. The simple fact that most of the doors have had these for a long time is clear proof that this was all made up. He is a whiny little snowflake who wanted attention. He wanted the battle flag banned and then he got his car painted with BLM logo and this was a continuation of his little tantrum.

^^^^. I read that last night. Yes a noose is a noose but in this instance it is totally irrelevant. It’s a fucking overhead door pull....

This guy lost all integrity with going on the DL show and stating that. If he was a big boy he would have brushed it off as a non issue. Nope, now he’s an attention whore.

NASCAR began their social justice campaign a few years ago when they decided that they wouldn't allow any more alcohol or tobacco sponsors because it gave them a bad image. Then came their effort to go green, and they've been slowly bleeding out ever since.

I hope every remaining race this season plays to empty stands

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Well, there isn't anything else important going on in the country, so that's an effective use of manpower.Smile

Well, I was 82.5% wrong there. To their credit, they did quickly figure out what was up and punch out of the craziness. Makes sense I guess that once called they couldn't not even show up to take a look-see.

I can see exactly how someone made a noose of a rope, probably during a long rain delay or similar. Hell I've seen scouts sit around perfecting a noose at campouts in past and that most certainly wasn't racism but just boys toying with rope and a difficult knot to perfect. I'm pretty sure I've seen adults doing the same, for the same reason. But I'm certainly not admitting I ever have!

NASCAR was the first "sport" to hold live events coming out of the lockdown, their viewing numbers were well up. They've squandered that now with this high profile face plant.

Bubba lost his main sponsor -- Blue Emu -- after he rage quit on of those i-races NASCAR was holding. Some are speculating his doubling down on this noose crap is a bid to get a new sponsor.

He's a mediocre driver and a first class punk.

I think he drives for Petty racing? Richard Petty is not the type to put up with a lot of nonsense from his drivers but he is stuck like glue with Bubba now. No way to get rid of him now and BLM will be his main sponsor going forward and they won't have to give Petty a solitary dime for it I bet.

When Earnhardt hit the wall so did NASCAR. Their popularity carried over a few years and then all the rule changes followed by all kinds of virtue signalling took over.

NASCAR is trying to dance to too many drums at the same time. Shame as it was once a great sport and I attended many races in the past.

Bubba remains "unconvinced"...

Bubba Wallace defiant, calls rope 'straight-up noose' after FBI says no crime occurred

If he got any benefit of the doubt before, he doesn't now. That's just stupid.

Doubling down on Today show today.

He would be terrified on my pier. There are at least 10 bowline knots in view this very minute. You know, not a functioning noose.

I'd love to hear the FBI say what kind of knot it really was. I am not buying any of what fool is saying. I haven't even heard if what he is referring to was connected to the door pull, or if it was detached.

^^^ That really is what all this comes down to. What kind of knot was it. Was it's only intention to pull the door down? Did someone at some time (a year ago???) actually tie a noose looking knot as a joke?

To me, it doesn't matter, AT ALL, what kind of knot it was. NOT A WHIT.

I don't know how many of these doors had similar setups, and would be curious to find out, because the only thing that matters is whether the person that tied them had ill intention, which I'll bet a years supply of doughnuts for every cop I know, was just setting up roll-up doors at the track.

I couldn't sleep last night, because I knew Bubba had been offended... Roll Eyes
