Take care and fair winds. When "The News" gets posted in SF, JALLEN will always be in my mind.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. Thanks for your service to our country - when we get the eventual news, know a half mast flag will be flown and taps will be played in your honor.

It was an honor to have met you JAllen. (Five Guys in the Quarry with the TXCHL bunch if you've forgot).

I wish the best for you and your family during this time, and it has been a pleasure being your otherwise invisible friend.

Some time ago, I recall having shared with you that my father had died with, but not from, IPF. Since that time, with the announcement of each new medication or new treatment regimen, few and infrequent as they were, I hoped that the advances would be sufficient to allow you to fall into that category.

I have very much enjoyed reading your posts over the years. In many cases, they have expanded my knowledge and occasionally they've changed my thinking on certain subjects.

I wish you and your family all the best.

I suppose you have to go someday. What’s good is you’re able to prepare for it. What’s especially sad for me is that it seems like only recently were you able to make your way to Texas. It would have been nice if you could enjoy your state longer.

When I had the lung cancer scare and thought I wasn’t long, I didn’t ask people for prayers; I asked for an outline of their eulogy for me so I can edit it. I’ll give you the gift of mine.

As I’m sure you know, you have the respect of everyone here including myself. I’ve come to look forward to the articles you post that provoke thoughts and discussion. I consider it an honor to have come to know you via this forum.

I wish you farewell and following seas.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Well, as has been stated.. damn.

While you may transition to the stage beyond, know that you remain on this side in your influence on everyone’s thoughts, whether they be in remembrance, the law, or life.

JALLEN, you really are a highlight of this forum. I always read your posts and I always enjoy and respect your opinions.

I don't like that you have entered this chapter of your life, but I will continue to lift you in prayer. God bless you, sir.

.

I agree. I've been reading and learning from JALLEN since he came on SF. From reading his post to his outlook on law, the Navy and SEAL input, flying. ham radio, so much other input on all kinds of subjects.
There's a few screen names that you look for in a thread and JALLEN is one of the first.
This makes me very said but you are in my prayers everyday.

Bill
