Although not shocking since you have posted of your health concerns in the past it is always a humbling effect to learn that someone is nearing the end.

When the person is close to you the effect is amplified. And while we are connected in electronic format the contributions you have provided gave me a bond to you.

There is much more I can learn.

Thank you for being you.

Cheers~

Jim,

Very sad to read that it has come to this, but I feel relief that you and your family will have the assistance of hospice. They are truly God’s angels and provide a service very few are capable of doing.

John

Let me echo this comment.

I can't count the times I have read your comments and thought 'this is a wise man speaking - listen to what he has to say'

God Bless and I hope you find comfort in the remaining days.

Jim,

You have long-warned of the tenuousness of your days. Most probably don't know that you thought of stopping posting long ago.

Instead, you dug in with seeming abandon . . . and we are all the better that you did.

People make a legacy, or more importantly like with you, leave a legacy of not just thought but the legacy of the WAY one thinks. You have mentored so many as a good example in life, not just board membership.

There is so much to say.

My email has been down or I would have written more in the last month.

For now, I hope you embrace the warmth in the kind words of your forum friends and enjoy the thought that you've made people's lives better by sharing your good nature with us.

That you have this rabble from all walks of life sending you greetings, hopefully buoys your spirit and even makes your wife a bit proud that you would give of yourself to others even as you struggled for breath.

God bless you.

David

Mr. Allen,

I count SigForum to be one of the best sources of information in the Internet of Things. I count you among the best contributors to this forum. Your contributions to my knowledge of our political past and future surpasses my ability to quantify. As you prepare to leave us I hope you find a measure of comfort in the education you have provided me.

I am no longer as disaffected and disillusioned with the political system as I once was. Through reading your posts I have found a curiosity, a desire to re-engage with our system that I thought was long dead.

Thank you Sir.

Ron

Mr. Allen - like others here have said, and much better than I can, you Sir will be missed. For years now when I saw your name following Posted By, it was a darn near an automatic click for me.

I've heard the expression "We stand on the shoulders of giants" You, sir, are one of those giants.

May you have peace and comfort in your final days.

May you have fair winds and following seas in the hereafter.
