Who knew McRib and Whiskey/bourbon could be perfectly paired.

I have been watching Fred for a couple of months, but missed this one.

I have always been tempted to try the McRib but have been hesitant because it seems the reviews are 50/50. In Austin there is a great BBQ restaurant called Slab BBQ and Beer and they have their own rib sandwich called The McDowell. It is a true rib sandwich. I tried theirs last week and it was fantastic and LOADED with rib meat! My picture isn’t great because it was outside in the sun and I was trying to get my motorcycle in the background. I will still have to decide if I want to try a McRib.

^^^

I'd take your McDowell Rib sandwich any day of the week over a McRib. Here in the Northwest we just don't have something like that readily available (reasonable driving distance) so, McRib it is in a pinch....

I need to head over and grab one. It’s been a busy month, but the ole Rib is worth taking a break for.

I also squirreled away a few chic-fil-a sauces… McRib, extra onions, bbq on the side. CFA sauce, McD’s Hot Mustard… now we are getting somewhere.

I have gotten 2 so far.
Yup, I splurged. I may even get another.

Are they smaller than they were? Sure seemed like it with both of mine.

McRib droppped a little bit early here!!!
Usually we don’t get them until November.

Guess I’ll get one here soon.

Though I am a little bit concerned with this year’s advertisement poster.

Has a beautiful picture of this culinary delicacy but the caption is “McRib this could be your last bite.”

I asked if that meant this is the last time we are going to see the McRib. None of the employees knew if it would be coming back after this go round.

Get them while you can folks!!

I have a feeling as long as they sell well when they pop up they will keep coming back. I can't say I eat at McDonalds very often, but I usually pop in for a McRib.

Now if only we could get Sonic to bring the Island Fire burger back...

"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Too many references to pork rectums made me pass on the McRib, but I'm gonna have to try one of these:

I had it last week because they ran out of roast beef.
I’d rather had a McRib!

Saw the sign at McDonald's today when I stopped in. Asked if it was available they said yes, I thought momentarily about getting one then decided to get my normal order. The guy tells me that they've got special equipment in this time around and that they will be a permanent item. No clue if the worker actually knew what he was talking about or not. Older guy, dressed better than the rest, probably a manager. His statement doesn't mesh with the sign though.

I still have never tried a McRib and may have to try it. There is a great local BBQ place that makes its own version of a McRib using fresh smoked real rib meat and that is an awesome sandwich!

A few people I know have made homemade ones. Use loaf of Italian bread or similar size, softer side. Over cook ribs, use tongs to pull out individual ribs. Make monster mcrib using your choice of BBQ sauce and pickles/onion. Wrap in foil, put in oven at 400 +/- for 10 minutes or so.
