I was enjoying an evening cigar over at the pond around 7:30 and noticed the reflection on the water. Sophie is in it there getting a drink.

Alumni association of my university got a couple blocks of tickets for last night's game.
Started poorly, but a great comeback win!

Northern Michigan on Lake Huron out the bedroom window. On the one hand, I’ve never seen the sky that color before. On the other hand, sun comes up really early and I’m not usually up. Here a picture out a lakeside window:

I had to play with the settings on my iPhone to get the red closer to what I actually saw. My eyes didn’t see that bright orange on the horizon. The rest of the horizon is fairly accurate. The clouds weren’t that purple either. This picture was taken with the wide lens on my iPhone 15. The previous picture was taken with my iPhone’s regular lens and closer to what it actually looked like to my eyes.

Aspen forests always get me, and I don't recall seeing one with a fern ground cover like that.

Beautiful, as are the others.

And I just noticed the carvings in the bark of the one tree; an example of not seeing something for the trees although it could not be plainer. Wink

Thanks! We get Aspens in SW Utah but nothing as dense as these. Aspens groves are one organism, hard to imagine. Here's a picture I took with my IPhone:
