Yes, my Islander is one of my favorites

Got my Aragon from our classifieds, arrived yesterday, wasn't sure how much I would like it. I love it. It's a chunky boy at 47mm

HELM has new model Field Watch coming in August.

Oh sweet!!! Helm looks to be making a field watch dial style GMT diver with a rotating bezel. Consider me VERY INTERESTED in this new offering Helm is teasing.

Just when I thought I was done buying watches and contemplating a massive collection purge a micro brand has me thinking maybe adding one more watch to the collection might make sense. Big Grin

If that baby is titanium there is no way I won’t get on the list, wait my time and get one from Matt at Helm when my number comes up. Cool

The 50th Anniversary Jaws Seiko Turtle is kinda neat. I certainly don’t need any more turtles but I think I might get this one. Big Grin

Neat, but pass from me. Would rather a more normal Turtle.

Well dang! Maybe I am not going to get one. They are going for $800-1000 on the fleabay. Eek

It’ll be interesting to see how that price trends in about a year or so. I am not paying that kind of money for a JAWS turtle. That is Seiko Zimbe money without the wild aesthetic design and unique caseback engraving that line of watches possesses.

I like the movie Jaws, and I like the Seiko Turtles. But I’m gonna take a pass on this one.

And the EBay stuff- I guess the saying of “It’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it” is true.
Then again, PT Barnum wasn’t wrong about “There’s a sucker born every minute” either.

A friend at work showed me pics today of a Rolex with a tiger eye face. I kinda like tiger eye, but I had a hard time liking that one. No matter… it’s got a price of over $100k. Eek

For cheap summer watch fun I have been buying various mesh bands lately for several reasons:
Cheaper than buying watches
Changes the look so it’s almost like getting a different watch
Fun waiting for same day or next day delivery from Amazon
Last Saturday I found BISONSTRAP on the above mentioned delivery company and ordered a black PVD one for my Seamaster:

It is flawless 316L SS, easy on & off foldover clasp,, super easy and quick length adjustmeant (no tools), and quick release spring bars. Comes in 4 finishes. $19.99
-Edited to add: I find the mesh bands to be more comfortable than either the original link band, the rubber straps, or even the fabric NATO bands. YMMV

I think I found my next watch.

Seiko 3 day diver with a neat dial!

One of my favorite watches in my collection is a “limited edition” silver dial variant of this watch I bought from my local boutique. I’ve always thought it was a great watch but needed a blue dial variant to keep it company. I REALLY LIKE THIS WATCH. Great movement, comfy case shape, nice bracelet and beautiful aesthetically pleasing design. These are superior to the MM300s that they draw many styling cues from because they are not so damn thick and heavy.

Or

I could be a mad lad and spend $400-600 more for a used “Seiko”….

Stickman, you are NOT making things easy for me.
I'm almost glad you don't have a YouTube channel!

I'm really looking for a Tudor Pelagos LHD. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger, and there's enough $ sitting in "toy" fund for that and another pistol.

Then ya gotta go and post this stuff ^^^
DAMN that Seiko GMT/Diver is nice!
72 HR power reserve, GMT feature and a dive bezel!!!!
I don't have anything in blue, and have been kicking around the idea.
You're going to have to scroll back a few pages, and I'm pretty sure it's STYLOPHILES that has a SS and blue bracelet for one of his watches. That bracelet would look amazing on this Seiko! (I'm just inquisitive on the bluing and how long it's going to last)

That watch is checking off a lot of boxes on my "wants".

I do have a YouTube channel. It just isn’t very good yet. Big Grin

My son got one of those fancy iPhones that can edit decently so maybe it will improve. (That is a goal of mine)

I like that blue 3 day, but I vote GS!
Especially since you just sold 1 GS, time to replace it. Wink

Hahahahahhaha. Thats a good point!! I didn’t even think about that but you are right! Big Grin

My wife and I have birthdays only a few days apart. Our birthdays are rapidly approaching. My wife told me (much to my surprise) that she wants a new watch for her birthday. She found out about the new gen3 Garmin Instinct solar watches and wants one. They are a big improvement over her current instinct 2 solar (small version with the tiny battery).

I told her as a matter of fact I’d kinda want a new watch for my birthday too.

Both of those are gorgeous! Not quite on par, but looks-wise, that's a though decision!

The Seiko is nice, but I'd prefer the Grand Seiko's Spring Drive accuracy and the crown at the 3:00 position vs the 4:00. Both are nice watches though!
