Sounds like you’re talking about a Rolex AD? If so and you were on a list for a new one, sounds like you’re going to have a good day! You’ll meet up with the sales associate, and be taken in back where there’ll be a private reception room and a glass of Prosecco offered to you. You’ll have the watch fitted to your wrist, sign off on the docs and pay for the watch with your credit card. Last time this happened to me the SA asked if she could pose for a pic with me. Sorry I didn't post anything earlier, had to put in some work... You'd be surprised on what happens on a warm weekend in Chicago  I didn't bring a camera, and if I did, it wouldn't do some of these pieces justice! I was pretty much on a mission while I was there. I have a Marathon GSAR that needs a little work, and was able to drop the watch off with them. Huge THANKS to the crew at Marathon! (Hence the walking out of the show with LESS watchs than I walked in with) I talked with some Hamilton reps, I have my Dad's original Ventura that needed some looking after, and there's a Hamilton Repair here in Chicago that's pretty damn good! Huge THANKS to New York Jewelry on Wabash here in Chicago! Like I said, I seen some interesting stuff at the show. The biggest one is FLUX watches. They had the prototypes (meteorite face) there, they should be taking orders in Aug or Sept for them. WOW!!! The lines on this watch are pretty slick, there's a dual micro-adjust on the bracelet, and they are re-doing the sapphire crystal bevel on the inside and out. My F150 goes into 'sleep' mode if it doesn't get enough light. Both hands go to 12:00 & a click of one of the buttons wakes it up. I didn't wear it for a while when my Monster & CZ were getting all my wrist time & it went dead, took a few days of heavy sun to get enough charge to run again & the battery only charges to about 60% now. This is without a doubt the prettiest complete piece of shit I have ever purchased. NEVER buy ANYTHING from eBay sellers in India. I think the case, dial and hands might be real but it is very possible the entire fucking thing is fake.  I’m quite tempted to make a YouTube video of introducing this watch to a hammer. The silver lining is that I know now I do want to own the real version of this watch and I want to recase/mod it into a watch case with a screw down crown. Aesthetically speaking I am digging this thing big time. The movement is fake, it’s a shitty Chinese clone and the dishonest scoundrel who owned it before me broke the GMT function on it. I’m gonna toss it on my time grapher for shits and giggles then I’ll have to do some thinking about the best thing to do with this watch. Returning it isn’t an option unfortunately. Fucking Chinese counterfeiters! Seiko makes a good product, even if they are increasing their prices. The fact that Chinese black market slave labor is undercutting even these reasonably priced watches says a lot. There's no way these operations could operate without the approval of the CCP. The award for most interesting watch acquisition process goes to my Sinn EZM 13! It’s actually kind of a good thing the eBay deal got canceled when the watch was lost for a bit by FedEx. The seller and I managed to successfully circumvent eBay for the sale after FedEx found the watch and that saved me a few hundred bucks! It all worked out in the end. I have a new favorite watch.   I’d like to think I am done buying watches but then Seiko goes and makes this. The price is absurd but it’ll likely go down a bit over time.
