No worries. I already got my money back. It frustrating because import fees on these is about $400-500 from Japan, which is the only place I can consistently find examples. Many of the Japanese offerings are well worn. This one was domestic and in VERY good shape. Frown

That’s horrible Stick!

Hopefully they’ll be able to track it down. You may recall my Speedmaster was stolen out of the UPS hub in Earth City MO. I filed police reports and sent a letter to the president of UPS. About 30 days later my package “magically “ re-entered their shipping tracking system and I finally got my Speedy back.

I hope the same for you.

We recently had a FedEx package of ebike parts go missing for a month then miraculously show up the same day as a second order of replacement parts. We have never had issues with FedEx or this particular manufacturer so that is possible.

I’d like to think it was something like that but being a watch worth a few thousand dollars the most obvious thing that comes to my mind is theft by employee. It would be so cool if I was wrong.

BigSwede,

Gorgeous watch! Be careful chronographs can be quite addictive. Wink

I knew I wasn't going crazy! I knew someone lost a watch somewhere in Mo. Eek
H20ys- Wasn't that watch your fathers? a family heirloom?

Stick- Who did you get it from? An independent seller, or Chrono24 / Grailzee... ?

I got my Omega (Speedy big box) right around the time H20ys lost his, and was crossing my fingers that there wasn't a big ass box that said "THERE'S A WATCH IN HERE!" going through a UPS / FedEx hub somewhere.

Independent dealer, who handled everything VERY well. I’d honestly not be shocked if this watch shows up in a month. I would not be surprised if it didn’t ever show up either. It’s out of my hands. If it was meant to happen it will.

I did get a neat Seiko in the mail today. I remember looking at this at the boutique and glancing at the price tag ($1k more than I paid). I saw an add on Facebook and thought to myself no way. When it came in and was legit I was pleasantly surprised.

CPD, great memory!

It was my confirmation gift about 50 years ago. Only shows honest wear and never been out of my hands until I sent it out for its first ever service.

Stick, mine was definitely stolen as I did pics of the unwrapping process and sent them to the repair shop. He said it was definitely opened and handled. I think it just got “too hot” so the UPS employee “put it back in the system “.

Stick-
I'm glad that the dealer handled everything well!

I just see wayyy too many bad things happening when a box labeled "WATCH" / "GUN" / "Something real expensive" goes through any UPS / FedEx hub.
Call me cynical, but wayyy too many bad things in my experience.

Nice Proplex!
I got that 60th anniversary of the Divers Watch (blue face w/ the waves)! I love that one! That micro-adjust bracelet is great!

Gee... I wonder who I got that idea from Roll Eyes

Shocking, considering how many times I've been punched in the head Wink

I remember that you eventually did get the watch back, and that it was opened somewhere along the line. I thought it was out of St Louis.

Hopefully Stick gets his watch!

I'm not normally into dress watches, but this one really caught my interest and finding an excellent deal on it (without box and papers) from a dealer I've purchased from led me astray. It's a Glashutte Original Sixties Panorama Date, which was only offered for one year (2018). 42mm is perfectly sized for my wrist and the fact that it came with a rather unimpressive black leather strap wasn't an issue as I had this nice grey kudu hide strap that filled the bill perfectly.

I know that one. It's got an incredible sunburst dial. GO makes some beautiful divers too. Its a very good company that just isn't recognized as much as it should be.

Happy Independence Day all!
