Appliance Brad, I noticed it too. A LOT of Luxury and Microbrand watch manufacturers have been quietly (or not so quietly) raising the price of their watches. Seiko went up quite a bit recently on replacement movements. The Seiko modders on social media have been very vocal about the price hike. The extremely popular NH35, NH36 & NH70 movements have all seen a 50% or higher increase from 2025-2026! I think on Seiko’s part it is bold and aggressive. They no longer seem interested in supplying movements to the MANY microbrands that use their popular NH movement in its various configurations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance

Stick, I really like that Longines. I am on the hunt for a watch with red in it, leaning towards a white/silver face with red bezel My Helm Khuraburi came in, definitely liking it. It's a chunker It came with a Nato and the ss bracelet, nice touch on the bracelet with screws instead of pins View of the side Bonus "Danger Muffin" pic, she was wanting some scratches. You’re going to love that Helm! Yep, it is a little chunky, that’s why I went for the titanium. The size to weight ratio is incredible. ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. The last year has been officially my 'mid life crises' I have traditionally been a one watch at a time guy. I wore a Resco Patriot Gen 1 for years, then a Marathon GSAR. More recently a Mudmaster B1000. But a few months ago I started selling some stuff, some guns, some watches, some stuff from around the house and my wife was like "what are you going to buy" and in the end. Well lets show you: It all started with the Doxa Sub 300t, I picked this up from a friend and I immediately fell in love with it. 20260701_113314 by redstone71, on FlickrShown with my 'Orange Monster' that was my daily for years as well. 20260409_203936 by redstone71, on FlickrBut I also had my eye on a longines, which led me to the Moonphase but I may part with this one as it does not get worn much: 20260619_150535 by redstone71, on FlickrI really do love the Doxa and the Marathon, but I just kept hearing a siren call for the hydroconquest . . . maybe it was Henry Cavill speaking maybe not, but I had not purchased a 'new' watch and Joma shop was running a pretty good discount . . . so the GMT happened. 20260811_130110 by redstone71, on Flickrand the gang: 20260811_131216 by redstone71, on FlickrMy wife has tolerated this little foray into the finer world of watches. This really has been a lot of fun and who knows where it will wind up. But as I told my wife, I have completed my 50-55 mid life crises (upgraded car and knives, and watches) and now I will see what tomorrow brings. This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it. -Rear Admiral (Lower Half) Joshua Painter Played by Senator Fred Thompson

I have really liked his approach and contribution to the watch contribution. His video on Longines is what sold me on the hydroconquest. This business will get out of control. I’m putting on my best Elvis voice and saying, “Thankyaverramuuhh!” Trying to get to your town soon — it’s been a mighty busy summer. BTW, did you get the email about the Grand Seiko event hosted by our favorite “pusher?” Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

redstone, that Orange Monster & the Moonphase are quite nice. Love my blue Monster, but thinking something in Orange will be next, when the budget allows.

I've mentioned before that I'm a big fan of anything with a retro-diver vibe. My grail watch is the BP Fifty Fathoms, but with a kid in college that won't happen anytime soon. I know there are a few of them floating around here. Anyhow - this little micro-brand from Canada I just picked up is a surprisingly nice piece for the price - the Heron Marinor in Atlantic Blue. Clearly paying homage to the FF and other 50s divers. Came on a bracelet but I like the sailcloth (that FF thing again). This message has been edited. Last edited by: Aquilon,

While looking up "Tool Watches" on my iPhone this image came up at the bottom of the page. I guess the best place to get a quality name brand watch is to buy 'Refurbished'! LOL ________________________________________________________ The trouble with trouble is; it always starts out as fun.
