^^^^^^ awesome Pulicords!!! Cool I’m so glad to see it wasn’t just me who received exquisite treatment from Christopher Ward’s customer care team. Those ladies & gents rock.

I’m not joking when I say this is arguably my #1 watch brand. Also consider, this is coming from someone who owns/has owned an obscene number of watches and takes enjoyment/amusement from interacting with the customer care teams of watch brands I don’t even own yet (I often pretend I own one) just to see how good they are at responding and answering detailed questions. Big Grin Christopher Ward & Doxa are two companies whose customer care won me over and made me a customer. Cool

One of Seiko’s best dials. I love those blue hands and the record like grooves in the bezel insert. Seiko never made this watch, you can’t buy one the only way to get it in this exact configuration is to build it yourself.

That looks great stick!
I'd be curious to see it as is, but with orange hands.
Or, with an orange bezel & blue hands.

If you haven't seen it yet, Seiko built a tourbillon. Not only a tourbillon, but took it to eleven.

^^^ WHOA! That Grand Seiko is modern art and a true mechanical masterpiece.

I try to be positive as hell these days but I have to tell you guys about an interaction I had a while back at my local Rolex/Omega boutique that still sort of annoys me and highlights one of the only down sides to being a watch enthusiast.

While at the Omega case, which unlike the Rolex case was FULL of beautiful watches, a fellow Seamaster enthusiast noticed my interest in the Seamaster watches in the case. He struck up a conversation with me and before I knew it he was handing me his black dial Seamaster Professional on rubber straps so I could experience how comfy they are on the wrist.

To be completely honest I’d never even considered the rubber straps because the bracelet is so great and that micro adjust design is just brilliant. He was right the Omega silicone/rubber straps are quite comfy, more so than I was expecting.

While taking off my watch to try on his Omega I mention I my Seiko Baby Marine Master SPB079 or as known in Japan the SBDC063 that is based on the 1968 vintage Seiko 6159. He must have heard Seiko and completely stopped listening. To say he had less than no interest in my Seiko would be an understatement.

That Grand Seiko tourbillon is a true horological masterpiece. It’s just incredible. Even the video showing the movement is incredibly well done.

It’s a shame some in the watch world don’t appreciate Seiko or it’s contributions. It’s also frustrating that some think that Grand Seiko is tarnished or maybe it’s better to say it loses a bit of its luster and appeal because it shares its name with Seiko. It’s an argument I completely and totally reject but I am biased and one hell of a Seiko and Grand Seiko enthusiast…but you ladies are gents already new that.

I wonder how much that thing costs?

I always remind the snobs that Omega is SWATCH and Rolex has never produced a movement. They FINALLY bought Aegler, their calibre manufacturer, in 2006.

I love all watches and horology.

Good timing- My first Seiko arrived today.

First impressions aren’t it’s fault. I’ve been wearing a giant Helson since Christmas Day so it feels like a lady’s watch to me.

Cool Seiko 5! When they first came out I wasn’t much of a fan. It looks a lot like the mighty SKX but without a screw down crown and lume pip on the bezel and with 100m less water resistance.

Over time I have changed my opinion on the Seiko 5. It’s a great watch to mod and since Seiko is cranking out dozens upon dozens of different color variations it’s been a hell of a great thing for the watch modders. Because of all the new dials, chapter rings and bezel inserts the Seiko 5 line has given us a TON of new factory Seiko parts to play with. The mix and match color combos now possible are just incredible. Cool

Even if you don’t mod watches they are a great watch. The DLC finish on the black cased Seiko 5 is fantastic. It’s so good I couldn’t bring my self to tear into it and use it’s parts for a build. Big Grin

Thanks stickman!

It’s growing on me already. :-)

I’ve got a couple business trips coming up. The Seiko fits I’m under the shirt cuff where as the Helson doesn’t.

On the subject of mods this very mildly modified Seiko Turtle gets the wrist today. I love how “Saturday” is light blue on the day wheel and matches the NATO strap.

Cool

Nurburgring watch, anyone?
Has an actual piece of the asphalt from the track for the watch face, and the GPS coordinates of where the track section was from on the back.
Pretty neat, but not for $7k.
