Answered the doorbell to find 1000 220gr SMKs waiting for me.

The other box of 500 should be here tomorrow according to the tracking number.

Never mind they were both shipped from the same place, to the same place, on the same day, with the same carrier, and today's box said "One of Two" on it.

Got a backorder notice from Brownell's for the JP Captured spring buffer I ordered Saturday night for my suppressed SBR build. Called and fought with them until they cancelled the rest of the order, too. They tried telling me "Sorry, we can't cancel that" "What? It hasn't shipped, and you haven't even BILLED me for it yet, so why can't you cancel it?"

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or in this case, the cancellation.

Still need to find one of those. And a black Seekins Billet mag release button. And decide on a charging handle. And get a Mil-spec buffer tube (the one I have is a little too tight with the stock I have).

Also need to find a place to store all the spare AR parts that are collecting. Grips, lower parts, gas tubes, buffer tubes, buffer springs, all sorts of crap. Pretty soon they'll all just get together and make another rifle. LOL

Loaded 30 for practice and processed 50 pieces of brass for match rounds for a Friday practice session. I am batching it for a week and will make hay while the sun shines.

Still not impressed.

Did the OCW on both the 168 and 178 AMAX today using Varget. I was expecting more than I got.

The 168s I ran the following loads: All loaded to 2.800" as I was looking for a magazine length loading.

Sighters
---------
42.7
43.5
44.3

45.1, 45.5, 45.9, 46.3 (3ea)

I started getting very faint extractor marks at 45.9. Too bad as this was the best group of the day at about 3/8". It was running about 2800fps at 28.00" and 40F. I might bump it back a few tenths and see if it holds and the marks disappear.

Lots of "Err2" on the Chrony with these. The sun angle was playing havoc with the sensors for a while.

The 178s were the following: All were loaded .020' off the lands.

Sighters
----------
41.8
42.6
43.4

44.2, 44.6, 45.0, 45.4 (3ea)

I ran this test first so the Chrony was acting fine. Ran into the same issue with extractor wipes at 45.0 and 45.4. Both those were smoking along at about 2700fps. Good lesson on the pressure signs though. I actually had never seen this before.

The best I got with these was about 1/2" at 44.6. Those were running about 2690fps. Still on the warm side compared to my 43.2/RE15/175smk which was running about 2550 today.

All the OCW loads seemed to congregate at the 7-8 o'clock area. Don't know if that was self induced or not.

The highlight of the day was my coldbore shot using the 175smk load. It was downhill from there! I might try tweaking a couple of these a bit, but seriously just considering buying a bucket of MatchKings and going with that for now. They seem to work. I'd much rather be shooting and learning than shooting and farting around with more load development.

First we must clean the firing position!

Cold bore 175smk 100yds.

Are you loading for a bolt gun or semi auto?

I loaded mine for my 5R to with Varget to 44gn and COAL 2.874 with great results.

Last night I loaded up 100 more 300blk subs using 150gr Hornady FMJBT and Lil'Gun. Today, I bought the last bottle of 1680 and another bottle of Lil'Gun. I really hate buying powder 1lb at a time, but I guess I should be grateful that I can find it. I also bought Hornady's reloading manual and scored some Hornady 208gr and some Speer 125gr.

Took in another 500 220gr SMKs yesterday from the nice mailman.

It was a different mailman than usual. He recognized OK Weber on the box and asked me if I was a reloader. I told him they were to make fishing sinkers from. He said he asked because he knew that place sold bullets, and that he reloaded.

So I broke down and told him they were 220gr SMKs. He said "Sierras are kind of expensive to make fishing sinkers from, aren't they?"

"Thanks, have a great afternoon!"

Just got a shipping notice that my 8# of 1680 should be delivered Friday by FedEx.

That sucks.

I'm sure it's signature required, and I'm out of town Friday, and SWMBO works till 5.

Standard trigger and SRT kit for the 227 showed up today. Tomorrow the Wheeler brass punches arrive, and so do 2# of 1680 and 500 69 gr SMKs.

Also ordered 1k 125 gr SMK seconds from PVI today.

Needed something to keep me busy until this frozen tundra thaws back out. Smile

So what did YOU do today in reloading-land?

I know people aren't in love with it but I just got a 4# jug of 700-x. I'm happy because I don't have to think about or worry about pistol powder for a bit now as it works with every pistol I load for.

I've used a metric shitload of it over the years, both in 12 gauge trap loads and handgun loads.

It works great.

Loaded 20 new test rounds and found that 9mm 124gr X-treme plated bullets loaded to 1.090" over 3.7gr of 700X functions beautifully out of both a glock 19 and Sig P226. (3.5gr makes the sig happy but won't cycle the glock).

Now I'm gonna load up a few hundred...
