AR Comp has worked for me in 223/5.56; good luck.

Thanks, got out yesterday for a bunch of test - some graphical results of node testing after crunching some of the numbers. DPMS AR (16") and Tavor (18.5") used for tests:

AR Comp

Varget

Cast about 600 .44 Keith style slugs with my new 5 cavity NOE mold. Also finished up a few hundred 10mm rds for myself.

Loading the .44's for my newly acquired FA 6" M-83 to begin in the next few days.

I finally took the time last night to get the 550 switched back over to 9mm and banged out a quick 200 rounds of 9mm.

Now its time to start cranking on a few more thousand rounds to get through the USPSA season and even work in a few more thousand practice rounds.

Chased my tail all day trying to discover the whereabouts of .006". Never did find the answer but stumbled across another couple issues in the process. Had to remount the single stage press to a different location on the bench. Finally managed to run about 30 .308 Lapua cases thru a neck mandrel. Gave myself eye strain and a headache looking at calipers all afternoon.

Yep. A typical entropy precision loading experience. Frown

Sat down for another hour last night and cranked out another 300 rounds on the 550. I don't know why I didn't buy this thing years ago.

In the off season during the winter of 2014 and 2015 I loaded around 10,000 rounds of 40 and 9mm on my single stage press. It took marathon weekends to do this but I thought it was no big deal because it was winter time.

Last winter I just spent my time doing brass prep and didn't do any loading because I knew that it would only take me a little bit of time a week to crank the rounds out for upcoming matches. It's soooo nice.

I finally got rid of the spent primer cup on my XL 650 for less than $6.

I drilled out the flash hole of a .50AE case(range pick up) with 1/4" drill bit. This was done with the rim in a vise and using the flash hole as the pilot hole for the bit.

Next I took the spent primer cup bracket off and wedged the case in place with the bracket holding the case by the extractor groove. I mounted the bracket back in place. Aligning the the case with the hole the primers fall through. Then I slipped on 1/2"(inside diameter) vinyl tubing and secured it with a hose clamp. Letting the hose drape down to the jug with a "gentle" curl in the hose. The curl between the bench top and the jug is what flexes as the turret goes up and down. I'll try and post a pic today.

Now I just need to fine tune my Bully Adapter... talk about frustrating.

Back in 1985 or 86 I bought a Dillon RL-450 (you had to manually pull a knob to place a primer in the cup and push a knob to manually drop a powder charge) and I thought I had died and went to reloading heaven Smile...I had been using various single stage presses since the late '60's...

I still use that old 450 with 550 upgrades (except the frame change) to this day...DILLON ROCKS IMHO...even if I had to change everything back to the old 450 (I have all the old parts and still use the manual powder measure in my single stage press) it would still be light years ahead...you can't beat them Smile

The old RL-450 ad...

I bought some padded flooring covers at harbor freight. Put them down in front of my reloading bench and proceeded to do a test drive by loading a quick 500 rounds on the 550. Wow, what a difference! Why I never thought of doing this before? Usually my knees get sore standing at the machine for even an hour, but the padding really helped.

Cleaned my meager supply of .45ACP brass (300), and reloaded 100 rounds of .45ACP with 185gr powder coated SWC over 4.7gr W-231, LPP.

This is my favorite 50yrd bullseye load.

Bought 1000 .45ACP once fired, and processed brass. Bought it from TJConevera, looks really good, very speedy delivery.

Loaded 200 rounds of .45ACP for next weekends GSSF match a few days back. Switched the 550 over to 9mm and loaded 500 rounds in a little over an hour. Did a batch of 300 and a batch of 200. In the batch of 200 as I was gauging them, noticed a case with no bullet, but powder. DOH....
Have no clue how I managed to do that, but now I'm breaking down those 200 rounds to make sure I didn't miss charging a case. I've found I can get through 100 rounds in less than an hour with an impact puller. Not fun but rather be safe than sorry.

Rolled up my weekly batch of .45 for bullseye practice (100 rounds).

I need to sit down, and load up 1000 of these guys, instead of a hundred a week.

Saturday, I went to the swap meet at my local gun club and dropped $500.00. 1000 Zero 230 FMJs, 1000 Extreme 230 FMJs, 500 Extreme 124 FMJs, 1 case (5000)of Federal Gold Medal match LPPs, and 7 50 ct. boxes of factory 45 acp (for my b-i-l's). Monday I cranked out another 200 rounds of 38 spl. I've still got about 1k of primed .38 spcl to go before I switch over the lock-n-load to something else. .45ACP, .223, 9mm, & 7.62x40 are all waiting their turn. Work keeps interfering with my reloading!

More than likely Orlando interrupted the "quiet" Para referred to in his thread...

PVI is showing a good supply of powders and primers in stock...soooo

I placed an order for an 8# jug of Hodgdon Universal Clays (good all around broad spectrum powder) and 7000 more primers (that's about all my poor old budget could stand)...

I had not really planned on buying much more but the Orlando shooting and the political fallout just scream "changes are coming" Frown...

If not...it'll be used down the road.

Nice little setup you have there indy sig. If I may ask, where did you get your drawer holder (my brain doesn't want to come up with a better descriptor right now... Wink ) to the left of your bench? I've tried a few things but they don't work quite right. That'd be perfect.
