Help! Help! I'm being repressed! |
There is a movie called "Turtles Can Fly". It's the most depressing thing I've ever watched, but at the same time I'm glad I watched it. It was the first film shot in Iraq after the fall of Saddam. It tells the story of a group of Kurdish children as they wait for the US invasion. The suffering of children depicted in the movie gets to me. You can watch the whole thing on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiRI4a3AptU

Saving Private Ryan. Particularly the scene at the end with the hand to hand fight with the German and the slow impalement with the bayonet the American endures I'm not actually a big fan of war movies in general, honestly. Some I watch (band of brothers comes to mind) but I just have too many friends buried under white head stones at this point to watch enjoy watching it I appreciate movies like SPR. But I don't enjoy them —————————————————— If the meek will inherit the earth, what will happen to us tigers?

Oh stewardess, I speak jive. |
Laugh tracks, on a certain level. "Reality TV" and the absurd difference between its label and content. Extreme violence and gore, such as films like Hostel.

"The Dark Knight" -- Incredible film, but Heath Ledger's performance, the menace and nihilistic violence are extremely disturbing. I have much less of a problem with portrayals of violence that have a point (even if I don't agree with the point), at least there is some logic (however twisted) to it.

It was probably the single scariest portrayal of nihilism i have ever seen.

The character of Moriarity, played by Andrew Scott, in the 'Sherlock' series on Masterpiece Theater really unsettled me, he was the epitome of sociopathic behavior, thinking of portrayal know kind of makes the hair on my arms rise. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

Holmes is just as scary of a sociopath. Yin and yang of the same coin.

Yeah...made the mistake of telling the guys at work that I found dolls creepy. They bought like a hundred dolls parts online, put them in mason jars with water, and filled my office.

Same here. I seen Ol' Yeller in the theater when I was very young. I was heart broke for months. Even today I refuse to watch any movies with dogs in it regardless if they are killed or not. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

Movies about religious evil, particularly Satan. Hard to describe. Deeper than fear alone. Some instinctual stimulus that that says this is something that is not to be trifled with. Never watched The Exorcist or similar genre.
