At the end, young Mic was really going after Max in his damaged car. I think that Max took Mic to school of high speed defensive driving....F1 style. All in all, it was an exciting race and I was proud of Sainz and both Haas cars. Alonzo showed the World that he hasn't forgotten how to race if you give him a competitive car.

The final laps after the safety car was some of the best racing we've seen a in a while, IMO.
LH's double overtake, the near-constant changing/fighting for 2nd was pretty great.

Saw some photos of Zhou's car Eek the entire airbox/roll hoop was gone.
Amazing that he was back in the paddock by the end of the race. Very lucky it hit the catch fence wheels first & relatively 'flat', after vaulting the tire barrier.

Was struggling to remember, in FP1, when they mentioned Bottas taking pretty much a full PU replacement & subsequently triggering a grid penalty.

Clarified at the beginning of Sprint Quali (SQ).

SQ finish = Saturday Spring grid position
Penalties applied to the Sprint result for Sunday's grid.

Hopefully gives Bottas a chance at points tomorrow, compared to a back of the grid start on Sunday & having to fight through the field.

Performance metrics shown in FP1, show Alfa as the only team to be losing time/speed so far this season, with all others improving.

A long night for the Mercedes mechanics tonight.

Chinstrap walks by all of the mechanics in the garage without saying a word, while George greeted everyone. Seems like a telling visual.

Didn't read, but saw a headline that LH stated that he supports George being the team lead.
Planning his exit?

During the red flag early in the British GP, TV showed LewLew sitting among pit members. He had the guy to his right move back and away as Lew watched the coverage, thinking he might be getting a little upstaged. It was pretty obvious and embarrassing to see but went without comment from the announce team. Roll Eyes

If the sprint race was any indication, the front of tomorrow’s race is going to be boring. The midfield action should be ok.

Different tire compounds tomorrow, Perez starting much closer to the Ferraris and a very tight midfield.
I wish Alonso wouldn’t have had his problem but he’ll have his work cut out for him.
Still wouldn’t bet against an easy race for Max but if the Ferrari guys would team up, who knows.

Good scrap with LH & Baby Schu.
MS did a great job defending until he lost DRS from KMag.

Only Ferrari could screw up a very solid 1-2.

They needed a split screen view to cover all the action throughout the field today.
I just wish they could design a track where physics would determine and enforce track limits, not the officials.
I wonder what component that was blowing out the sidepod of the Ferrari?

Congrats to Haas for a strong showing. Loving this season.

That Ferrari motor came apart. It threw a rod and / or something important broke Smile

Lots of good on track action.
Lots of pieces being thrown through the Ferrari engine cover, perilous not being able to stop a flaming car from rolling away.

I would recommend binging the Netflix series on F1.

That was a good race yesterday - some real racing at the front, and in the middle of the pack.

I wish Ferrari could solve these engine problems and give RB more challenge.

Mutedblade, the races and qualifying is broadcast on one of the ESPN channels. The Netflix series is entertaining, but more focused on personalities than actual racing and strategy.

Yeah, the fragile Ferrari PU needs some attention.
But, they are holding 2nd in the WCC and 3/4 in the WDC.

Interesting that the top 6 in the WDC are 3 teams & in the same order as the WCC: RBR, FER, MBZ

On to the probably most boring race of the year (since Russia was dropped).

Hopefully, now that the cars can follow closely without damaging the front tires, we'll see another good race.
The track itself is terrible. Looks like a large parking lot with lines to mark the track, and variations of the track.
Still a lot of races to go, but at some point Ferrari need a great weekend with Max failing to score to close the points gap.
