^^^ That band was very troubled, having been screwed out of money and two members (the first was its frontman Pete Ham due to the aforementioned money problems) committing suicide.

I remember most of the songs posted here but I can't believe it's been six pages and no Earth, Wind, and Fire.

They've been popping up on my feed recently and I've seen some analysis of their work as being on a high level of music writing.

Theirs was the first and only concert I went to during my teen years.

Boogie Wonderland

September
A co-writer said she learned a valuable lesson from Maurice White. When she asked what "Badiyah" means, he said, "It doesn't matter what it means. Don't ever let the words get in the way of the groove."

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
