Hadn't heard this one in years until this morning while listening to the old American Top 40 show broadcast on Sirius' Seventies on 7 channel. A cover of The Platters' hit in '59. This is from late '72.

And this one is cheating a little, recorded in 1969 for his Nashville Skyline album, but I loved the 70s sound of this song during the Rolling Thunder Revue (wish I seen a gig from the tour).

I don't know why but this song is firmly embedded in my memories as a quintessential 70's song. I was only 5 years old when it came out but still remember hearing it at that age on the radio in the car with my Mom and Dad headed to Kiddie City, a toy store chain in our area:
I still love it.
