Gawd, that song makes me think of 7th grade football. And video games at the mall. Thanks for posting.

Seems like you’re all going for bigger productions. Chicago was the first big concert I ever saw. Terry Kath was still alive. The fade-out on “Make Me Smile” is perfection.

And now for something completely different.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Jerry Garcia this morning. I was never a Deadhead, that just wasn’t my jam, but (as the Brits say) he was a ‘brilliant’ musician, and I love listening to him play any instrument.

Old & In the Way was one foray Garcia took into Bluegrass, certainly not the only. The band consisted of Garcia on banjo, Peter Rowan on guitar, David Grisman on mandolin, John Kahn on upright bass, and Vassar Clements on fiddle—outstanding musicians all. Only Peter Rowan and David Grisman survive.

This is probably their best known song. Garcia is mostly known for playing his iconic electric guitars with The Dead; listen to his banjo (almost makes me like banjo music Wink).

Speaking of the Dead:
I had no desire to listen to a 40 minute jam band performance of “Walk Me Out in the Morning Dew,” but there were some great studio albums.
