This kind of music isn't really my jam, but there's an interesting story behind the band; all are military veterans and they use their platform to raise money and awareness about veterans and first responders.

None have a more interesting story than rhythm guitar player, Jason Everman (Gibson LP in the video). He was with Nirvana, and then Soundgarden, left, or was fired. Enlisted, became an Army Ranger then Army SF. Tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I went down the YouTube rabbit hole and found this, Mary Kutter singing about Oxy in Appalachia. Raw, true and powerful. This lady has talent.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

This is a young guy from Arkansas who got his start posting covers on TikTok. He’s selling out shows now and has become a pretty good songwriter.

Discovered this band a couple of months ago, forgot about this thread.

It's been a looong time since I heard a band that excites me in a pure rock n roll sense. Two man band, occasionally bass gets played on a song. A mix of 50s garage rock, rockabilly, with The Cramps and maybe a little of a Urge Overkill vibe thrown in. I hear they are amazing live.

don't think I have posted this one,

not sure

opened for Gary Numan a couple years ago,

she can sing like an angel, or rather Alison Goldfrapp when she wants too, but prefers to do what she does,

good opening act,

and a haunting, to me , video

I seem to have a thing for small indie bands from Australia. Smile

The Paper Kites are another example. I've liked a couple of their songs, but last year they came out with the album "At the Roadhouse" which really lit me up. I think pretty much every song on the album is terrific.

They played a couple of shows in North America this year, but not anywhere around here. Next year, however, they will be touring more extensively to promote their upcoming album (If You Go There, I Hope You Find It) and will be playing at the House of Blues in Chicago.

This young guy will be opening for the Red Clay Strays at one of the night shows at Cheyenne Frontier Days this coming summer. The lyrics are great, especially the 2nd verse (which is a little difficult to hear). Anyway, good song.

Yes! That was awesome. Thank you, SPWAMike for sharing that.

I’ll offer this one:

A bit of backstory, from the comments:
“For those unfamiliar with this band-- this was the way Kent announced their finish-- the last album and tour as one of Sweden's most successful bands. I'm not a "Kent expert" although I did enjoy them so this is my take-- many of the shots are of previous album covers and songs (the plane, the tiger, the running girl, the woman on horseback, woman in the tunnel, the dogs, etc.) It's as if Death is rounding up everything from the past and bringing it back together one last time, for one last march. Då Som Nu För Alltid means Then As Now Forever.”

The sound is kind of powerful from the PC speakers, but run it through the house system and it’s amazing. I’d love for there to be a super-long extended version -- I’d play it extra loud in the garage, just to make the neighbors wonder what the heck was about to happen. Razz

Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around.
