It would be a great idea. The biggest draw to the P320 has been trying new grips and getting them sent to my house instead of to a dealer and a new 4473. I'm sure it would make law enforcement armorers happier to pop on a new grip module instead of sending a gun off to get chopped/stippled and then retested to make sure everything is still reliable.

You may well be correct, and if Glock actually does that it won't do good things for RXM sales. The Ruger design is interesting, but all else being equal I'd rather have the factory modular Glock.
What RogueJSK said.
I can't think of too many agencies that would allow chopping/stippling on an issued duty gun at all. Agency culture is typically that you get what you get and learn to live with it. They care more about factory support and protection from liability than they do the desires of the individual officer. The beauty of the grip modules is that you can get a legit, factory supported option to fit the gun to the user that doesn't fundamentally alter the gun or affect the warranty.

Yeah, I'm in the same camp. I have been intrigued with the 320's and the chassis stuff, but I'm too deep in Glock stuff to switch platforms. This RXM is interesting, but my Glocks have Glock parts and that's kinda the way I'd prefer to keep it. I'd go for a Gen 6 modular Glock... as long as they don't try to yet again bring back the half moon cut on the front strap. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

The department I work at will let officers (at their own expense) to an approved aftermarket shop (use to be Robar) for grip modification. Just give the armorer your gun and the money, and they'll ship it out and tell you when it's back. Of course, they also make you buy your own equipment so it's not cheap.

So it's a personally owned gun that's being modified, not department owned? I doubt there's any department that would allow it on a department owned gun.

Yep. They tell you the equipment you need to buy. I'd hope there's some discounts involved, but the farthest I can get involved is reading the guidelines.

Handled both today, side-by-side. The SA had a smaller grip all around that felt JUST right. The RXM felt better than a G19, but then again...what doesn't? They are basically tit-for-tat the same size.

Yeah, I can definitely see them having a harder time banning that stuff if the department isn't providing the equipment and making guys buy their own. Around here within the last 10-15 years most agencies have gone away from allowing personally-owned duty weapons and started issuing them out, even to reserves.
My situation is similar, but opposite, lol. I'm pretty heavily invested in the P320, both in accessories and trigger time...mainly because that's what we use at work. I like Glocks, and used to own one, but it got to the point where it seemed counter-productive to practice with it, especially after I started working with an RDS and put a lot more emphasis on natural index, so it just sat in the safe. I'm not saying I'd go back even if I could...but it would be a lot easier if there was a grip option that made it closer to my Sigs.

I have several Rugers. Carry the LC9s Pro. Didn't fall in love with the Max-9 like Ruger would have liked. I will wait for the hype to settle down and think about something to sacrifice for a trade-in. If it doesn't break at SHOT then another Ruger might be a 2025 option. A flat mag baseplate would have been nice though.

For real? |
So this is the multi optic footprint that fits multiple footprints? Not minority enough!

That's just the bulky Magpul mag it comes with. It uses Glock 19 magazines. So you can use Glock factory mags if you want a flat baseplate:

Ruger states that it's compatible with optics that use the RMR, DPP, and RMSc footprints.

This actually has my interest. It looks like they fixed Glock’s shitty grip angle. If they have any sort of improvement over the Glock trigger, and this comes at below $400, this could be worth looking at. The LC9S actually has a pretty decent trigger. It’s everything else about that gun that I don’t really care for. If they get a trigger like that into this platform, I would actually consider picking one up to throw in a weekend bag or keep in the car provided that it’s reliable, of course. _______________ #COMMUNISTMANBAD

A dealer 15 miles away is asking $409.95. A dealer buddy said I could have one for $400. But he’s 60 miles away. Point is, not under $400 but close enough.

Lowest I found online is $360. Another place has it at $380. Most places it's $399. So just under $400 online, but that doesn't include shipping, or dealer transfer fee. I suspect once the newness wears off, you'll be able to find them on sale closer to $300 from time to time.

I've long hoped that Glock would make a 19/26 - A G26 frame mated to a G19 slide. This is my ultimate survival kit pistol. Merely fantasy, but I'd sure like to see Glock make it. How odd that Ruger and Magpul may make it first. With the chassis system, a frame so configured is as simple as making a mold for it. Since it looks like Ruger's new Glock is going to take off, I do see G17, G34 and G26 variants coming from Ruger in the next couple of years.

Bought one today at my local Fleet Farm. $364.48 out the door. Solid and balances well. Fits in all my Glock 19 holsters. Did I need another pistol, no but could not beat the price. “I'm fat because everytime I do your girlfriend, she gives me a cookie”.

My basic issue with “X is making a Glock clone” is that the basic selling point of Glock is the simplicity and decades of durable and reliable history. Is it worth a hundred bucks to buy something that may possibly be as good or better but is an “unknown” vs spending an extra c note for the real deal? I am not pooping on the clones or people who buy them. Hell you can’t build history without a user base I am just saying for ME personally Glock is simplicity and history. Without that why not try something completely different (Walther PDP, HK VP9 etc. etc. etc. ) for example. I think Ruger makes good products. Think Magpul makes good products and I think their mags are excellent but I just don’t see me wanting to rush out to buy a Ruger G19 magpul mags and chassis system or not. Dear God in Heaven I have crossed the get off my lawn the G19 was good enough in my day threshold. I think I’m now actually old and maybe a Fudd. Dammit!! My point still stands though.
