It will be worth the wait. The mesh they use is extremely comfortable especially here where it will be 104 this week. You really notice the difference between Kydex or leather the hotter and more humid it gets. Mine took about a month to arrive. They must being getting popular as word of mouth spreads.

I'm hoping it's going to rock the party. Stealthgear called me after the purchase and asked if I would send my Sphinx in to them to make more shells and offered to give me a free holster for doing so. I didn't feel warm and fuzzy sending my brand new pistol out via one of the delivery blunder companies so I politely declined. It was cool of them to offer though. I ordered a catalog and found the young lady on the phone has family in my town. Small world. I inquired about different sight blade to bring my point of impact higher. They don't have any options available yet. I tried to drift the rear sight over to at least adjust my impact to the left and couldn't budge the rear sight (yes, the screws were loosened all the way). I need to find someone with a universal sight pusher to borrow. Also, I wonder if the rear sight dove tail is a standard size?

Interesting as my Subcompact was dead on target out of the box.

Re: Onyx... I received my IWB Onyx about 10-14 days ago and am now carrying my Sub in place of my P239 during daylight hours. With no night sights available for the Sphinx (very frustrating), the SIG gets the job if I am going out in the evening.

Yeah, this was not a deal breaker. The pistol is superb in every way except the sights. My groups are tight, low, and to the right. It's not me but I wish it was just my shooting. I initially tried aiming as the tip of the front sight as POI knowing I probably would get that lucky (as with the Sig 6/8 sight combo). Tight group low and right even from 15 yards. Tried covering the entire bull with the front sight dot, still 3-4 inches low and right with a tight group from 15 yards. Trying to move my rear sight a bit left to adjust the horizontal POI. Not sure what to do yet about the vertical. May be able to shave the rear sight and re-blacken. If the dove is standard I may just get some adjustable rears with NS. I'll keep everyone informed. The pistol is a keeper and I don't regret selling the P938 to get it one bit. Just have to get the sights sorted.

If you want to raise the point of impact wouldn't you want to shave the front sight instead of the rear?

Yeah, I realized that today well after I posted. Thanks for pointing that out though. At my age it is entire likely that I may have not thought about it a second time and missed it. The older I get the more I double and triple check myself.

On the brighter side, my Onyx is scheduled for delivery tomorrow!

I wanted to post this as there might be some interest. Today I once again carried the 52 ounce fully loaded Sphinx Stainless Duotone. I saw another holster recently on the net that caught my eye, similar to the Remora, which I like. I like this one even more than the Remora. It's nice and flat, well made, stays put, and just feels right. Remember, that's 52 ounces this one is carrying and I never had to adjust it at all. I'm not giving up my leather, but I certainly wouldn't hesitate grabbing this Sticky holster anytime to carry either my HK P2000 or the Sphinx. Excellent holster in the price range of the Remora. They are also made in versions to accommodate lights as well.

I assume you meant 42 oz., not 52.

I am impressed that your able to conceal your Sphinx. I bought a Milt Sparks VM II for my Compact and could not conceal it effectively, IMO. Beautiful holster guess I am just too thin..

I'm use to carrying a P229 and HK P2000, and the compact is right in that size range....compact. Not a problem for me. The subcompact is of course smaller, and much lighter than the stainless constructed duotone by quite a bit. The Alpha Compact is only a few ounces heavier than the Subcompact.

I've found as long as you have a real good gun belt, it's real easy to carry a heavy gun. I think that's the true base of a carry rig. I will tell you that it's not as bad as it seems, at least this Sphinx. It weighs more than most fully loaded steel 1911s packing 230 gn bullets, yet being in a slightly smaller package seems to be different,....at least to me. I've carried the Sphinx all day and after a while, I don't even notice it.

I will say that one thing it does do is make you realize just how light everything else is! My fully loaded HK P2000 comes in right at 32 oz, and my lightest gun the S&W Shield 9mm is 24 oz full loaded. Yes, there is a difference between 24 oz and 52 oz, but it's nothing I haven't been able to get around.

I'm glad I bought the Duotone along with the Subcomct Sphinx, but I was indeed hesitant for a long time because of the 42 oz empty weight of the Duotone. I finally gave in and bought it. No regrets.

Well, I have a Subcompact and just requested a price quote on a Compact. Yeah, they are that good.

The Subcompact has replaced my P239 SAS Gen 2 for carry. The lack of night sights is my only complaint. I have ~275 flawless rounds of SD ammo through the Sub plus a bunch of ball ammo as well. I did find my Sub picky on SD ammo, but I seem to be the odd guy out on that issue.

Oh, and that's Mr. Jerk, please.

If the Compact Alpha works out, I am going to see if MississippiGal can locate me a Duotone.

I purchased my Subcompact from Donna and asked her for pricing on a Compact earlier today. She's great to deal with.
