Am I the only one that’s not a fan of the ambidextrous gas pedal? I actually do like a reference texture and like the little ledge on Shadow System frames. I find the gas pedal to be fine but would never think to hang one on each side of the gun. The crazy part is that I am ambidextrous and can shoot handguns well from either hand, though I primarily shoot right handed. I’ll wait to see it in person, but my preference would have been a more subtle forward thumb point. That said, a G45 with a better optic cut than the current MOS is about the only one that would get me to bite. For a feature like that, as opposed to say a thumb safety on a 1911 or a SAO Sig, I absolutely prefer that it be on both sides of the frame. Maybe it’s just my OCD but the lack of symmetry would absolutely drive me bonkers if the gas pedal was only on one side. “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. Molds used in injection molding are extremely pricy (easily six figures!), so there’s NO way in hell that Glock would be molding LH Frames/Lower Receivers, especially since there is NO left-handed Glock! It would be different if the Thumb Rest was a feature of the Takedown Lever, but that doesn’t exist in the Glock ecosystem either! ____________________________________________________________ If Some is Good, and More is Better.....then Too Much, is Just Enough !! ^^ According to Safariland [posted back on p2], the Gen 6 won't work the 6000 series Holsters (or at least some of them...new SKUs coming!), though they're not saying it's 'Gas Pedal' related. I would not take that to mean it'll work with the 7000 series though. We all know how important it is to use the proper holster, as in one that's designed for the specific pistol you plan to use it with..Just sayin'

Well unless I missed it even Safariland video said the all work, 6000 included, they just need to make a slight adjustment because of a small difference at the muzzle end of the gun. | |||

Glock rep was in town today and I got to actually handle a couple of Gen 6 19s and 17s. Sadly, did not get to shoot them. The grip texture feels great in the hand, and I actually like the thumb rest/gas pedal thing. It feels like it will provide some forward stability under recoil, although as mentioned above I didn't actually get to test that. I like the palm swell. It makes the gun feel a lot better in the hand...much less like a 2x4. One things that's weird is that there's a recess just below the slide catch lever that seems like it's supposed to be for your right thumb, but with a proper thumbs-forward grip my thumb is nowhere near it. The grip angle still sucks, but if you're already a Glock guy that's a non-issue. The trigger reach is slightly reduced, which I don't like, and I also don't care for the flat trigger shoe, but neither of those things is bad enough to be a deal breaker. ----------------------------------------------------------- Any comments made by this poster are my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer. | |||

Anyone know if the Holosun SCS will fit the Gen 6 guns? I have one on a gen 5 gun and I’m thinking about selling the gun. I’d like to keep the sight to put on a gen 6 gun when I buy one but can’t find if it’ll fit. | |||

A friend that’s a .gov type got quite a bit of time on a 17 yesterday. Guys a high end shooter and has one of those unlimited budget jobs. He was pretty impressed. I have not seen an specifics on the mounting. Will be interesting to see if any of the mounting holes are the same as the MOS. Gen6 replaces MOS w/ ORS (Optic Ready System); therefore, the current Holosun SCS will be incompatible. I don't know if Holosun will have a Gen6 compatible SCS in the Q1 of 2026, but they probably will eventually. Or the new ORS may lower the deck height enough that the SCS doesn't have an advantage over other optics.  | |||

Add to that two things: 1) It took Glock three years to put out Gen 5 guns in other calibers and there was significantly more LE interest in other calibers than 9mm then (but still not much compared to a few years before). 2) When Glock consolidated their product lines earlier this year, the .357 (Gen 4), .40, and .45 guns took a big hit. I highly doubt we will see a .357 Sig Gen 6 gun. I think it is unlikely that we will see .40. Maybe they'll buld a .45, but frankly I doubt it as well. | |||

Just my opinion from an avid shooter point of view- I think there’s still enough demand out there for the .40 I know there’s enough for the .45 (at least Im hoping!) Yeah, everything seems to be moving towards 9mm, but there’s a lot of .40 out there too. I would like if Glock tossed the .40 on the large frame.
