I dunno...Sig walked away from it. And if there's any company out there that prioritizes making money, it's Sig Sauer. I'm not saying they won't make it, but I'm not so sure there's any money to be made in .40/.357 Sig these days. The 10mm has a niche in the outdoorsman market so those still sell, but Sig hasn't offered a .40/.357 since COVID, and I don't think a .45 either outside of 1911s. It'll be interesting to see what Glock does with those calibers.

Thanks, yes I missed it. I'm not a Stoeger fan, but it was the first video/pictures I had seen that weren't leaked from Brazil. I hadn't yet watched the video in the first post and realized Glock had a demo day and was putting them in the hands of all the YouTubers.

Like I said I'll likely get one next year. Looks like they made few nice improvements.

Thats why I couldn’t only dream of a new 31 but a 10mm
Hell yes I would snatch one up in a Gen6 for sure.

God I hope they make other calibers I think you’re right it’ll be awhile if no 357 Sig I’ll settle for a Gen6 Glock Model 20 I would also consider the model 45 so I have a black version to go with my 19X for sure.

Did .45gap get the axe awhile ago before they axed 357? I was going to get a gen5 23 and get a 357 barrel for it but I'm happy with my old USPCompact in 357. I still have a gen4 31 and 32 from work so I don't really another one.

I changed my order from a gen6 45 to a gen6 19. My guess is when I show up to pick it up, the dealer is just going to throw the 45 on top of it and trick me into buying both. Every time I go to get one gun, I always end up leaving with two. He knows how to get me.

I'm hoping they eventually offer a gen6 45 with COA to departments. We're not due to change guns for a few more years. The plan is to change it in late 2030 and get them in before spring 2031. I want to retire in late spring 2031 and buy the gun for $50 from the city when I retire.



Not minority enough!

That's the Fed/Mil side of the house, but last I heard it was a G19Gen5. I'll be seeing those folks next week, so I'll ask.

The V guns are not intended for the LE market. That's not to say there's any reason they couldn't be used in that role, but all of the pre-existing Gen 5 stuff was discontinued on the commercial side only.

So a few things to consider. The Gen 5's came out in 2017 ALL in 9mm. It would be THREE years before they issued them in .40 S&W. And btw Sig Sauer doesn't chamber ANY of its current handguns in its "signature" caliber .357 Sig.

Secondly, and I'll admit this is anecdotal, but a few years back I had a conversation with a rep from one of the MAJOR ammunition manufacturers. He let me know that they produce more 9mm in one month, than all of the .357 Sig, .40 S&W, 10mm, and .45 ACP COMBINED in one year of production.


The latter reminds me of a chart I posted on GT a few months ago. It showed what service handgun, and the caliber each State Police agency issued back in 2019. If I remember correctly about 2/3's issued .40 and/or .357 Sig chambered handguns. Most of the rest were 9mm, and a couple in .45ACP. Fast forward to 2025, and the ALL but three or four issued a handgun chambered in 9mm.

Believe me Glock knows where the money is to be made.

Once USSS moved from 357 to 9mm it was a wrap for 357. I'm going to miss her like my first girlfriend as my first gun was a P229 in 357.

With that said they, and I, moved over to the +P 135 grain critical duty.

Damn, I didnt think about it that way.
I know the .45 GAP is a thing of the past, which was probably a never should have been.
I forgot that the USSS left the .357 Sig. Between the USSS and a few other State & larger Local PD's were the only thing keeping the .357 Sig alive.

I can't see Glock dropping the .40 or the .45, even the 10mm. I know a lot of agencies are going 9mm, but there's (at least I think) a marker out there for these calibers.
Yes, the .45 and the 10mm are on different frames, but there's still a market, right?

I'm not the only one here that likes the .45 Cal?!?!

Just my unpopular opinion, but I think the .45 GAP would have been great in a 2011 (double-stack 1911) or a double-stock Sig P211 (double-stack P220????). The shorter overall length would have made it easier to make a comfortable grip.

Glock should have used the .45 GAP slides in the .40 cals instead of trying to shoehorn it into the 9mm slide. It would have avoided the problems that came later.

The .357 Sig round would have been perfect for the H&K MP5.
