That saddens me. I like it a lot. I am guessing we will find out at Shot Show if Aimpoint will keep it alive and release it independently from Glock. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. COA is not dead. Aimpoint just can't keep up with production. I think they can make like 1500 a month and Glock wants 15k a month. lol I'm hoping it's caught up by 2030. lol. I plan on switching my department to the 45gen6 COA in 2030 so I can retire with it in 2031. Not minority enough!

My gen 5 19 COA is easily the best Glock I’ve ever owned. Great combo. The optic is great. The mounting system “seems” impervious to normal mounting issues. It’s a gen5 so that’s good. If I had any complaint it’s that you don’t have any rear sight options. That’s easily fixed though if the A mount becomes a thing. Which after that 1 year contract it could. I’m not saying A mount is the solution but it certainly is better than the other options for hard use.

^^^^^^ What else would you want in a rear sight? Seems like the prefect combo for me. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Night sights for one. I have a factory ACRO cut Walther PDP. I believe it is the PA State Police version. Anyway, by being factory cut and very deep mounted you can use normal height sights. It came with Ameriglo or maybe XS, I forget which, night sights where the front sight has the bright yellow around the tritium. It is a fantastic set of irons. If I need to use the irons in the event of a broken optic, dead battery, whatever, I still want GOOD irons. So yea, I want options.

I have fiber optic fronts and rears on my 320 with an RMR and it’s a bit much going on. Not enough for me to swap them but I like the COA setup better. Standard nights sights might not be too bad but I don’t want too much like the fiber optics moving forward. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I am right there with you but……I know I know but nullifies everything…..BUT hear me out. I’ve thought about the situations where my optic goes down. I’m either going to notice it during some kind of PM/check out before holstering and I will address or it’s going to go down / be down during an actual event. If that event is in any way shape or form a real SD scenario when that gun comes up and there is no dot the chances of me having the presence of mind and time to switch to irons are pretty non existent. The fact is at that point I’m point shooting/using the dot housing etc. Now could there be an outlier event with distance involved or time if I’m not the current target, sure but those are probably towards the thin part of the bell curve. I absolutely want back up sights but I know that for me PERSONALLY I probably wouldn’t likely be using them in all but outlier scenarios. Now this is just because of my own introspection on my own skills etc. not saying others wouldn’t be able to do better but I’m a realist as far as my own lack of skills and abilities go…….so giant ass ghost ring for me it is if that dot goes down. Dawson Precision already has Gen 6 Glock sights posted, so I ordered a blacked out rear with fiber optic front in the height they specify for Holoson 507c, 507comp, etc. These are about 0.010" taller than the specified RMR sights, but I measured my optics and the RMR deck is the same height as the 507c deck when you use a sealing plate on the RMR, which is required on the Gen 6 Glocks. Even the upcoming FCD Gen 6 optic plates require a sealing plate. Dawson tends to spec their sights for RMR's without the sealing plate in my experience. If I don't like the front fiber, I can get a blacked out sight from Dawson. No need to mess around with Ameriglo to figure out which height is needed. I don't know why I bother with anything but Dawson. They make the perfect sights for my P320 ZEV slides with low dedicated RMR cuts. Their customer support is outstanding as well. They will get you the right height sights if you order the wrong ones, or if your POA/POI is off.

As for the COA I would like one, but for now they are LE orders only. Once they are available to civilians again I'll bet you will be able to buy replacement slides with COA's.

I was in my LGS this morning and they had several G19 COAs in the case for public sale. I was kinda surprised…

One of the other Sergeants at work just picked up a G-19 Gen6. I got to play with it in the office for a few minutes. (I wasn’t willing to walk outside and letting off a few rounds, seeing that Chicago is the world’s largest outdoor range The flat trigger- Whatever. I can take it or leave it. But that’s me. If the flat trigger is your thing, rock on. Trigger pull- Not much difference between a Gen 1-5 and the Gen 6. Granted, I was dry firing it only. The grip- Noticeable difference. The angle is the same, but there’s a noticeable difference, especially with the reduction on the trigger guard! Glock knocked that one out of the park. The texture is about as aggressive as the old RTF-2’s. My guess is, after a few years of use, it’s going to wear down. The Thumb Rest- Oh yeah!!! And it’s a “Thumb Rest” because Man that thing feels nice! Again, I dry fired it, and I need to put a few rounds through it to really get the feel, but so far- really nice! To the point that I want all my Glocks to have it. This little experience may have just cost me a few bucks. I want to sell my G-17 Gen3 and grab me a G-17 Gen6! ______________________________________________________________________ "When its time to shoot, shoot. Yeah there are still some Gen 5 COA's around in stores. I like the design and how it uses standard height backup sights, but the 100% proprietary nature of it is a little annoying.

Just to update the thread - they are ACROs and not COAs. That’s my bad, I didn’t realize they are two different optics.

Yep, COAs for the 6s confirmed and though they said LE only, Glockstore had COA preorders posted up which is how I heard about it. I'm glad it can go to both sides of the house and not just LE/Mil.
