I'd definitely like to compare it to my other existing micro 9s. The video makes it sound promising. It's only taken five years from patent submittal to market (still not quite yet, according to the vid); I guess HK really was a tad busy doing other stuff.

TFB just dropped a video too. I’ll buy one for sure to satisfy my curiosity.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'm a big HK fan but this doesn't appeal to me. I don't see this as a replacement for my Walther PPS M2 or my Colt Defender. Obviously the HK beats both of those in capacity. It was interesting to watch the video though!

I was really hoping for the SFP9CC.

I know they released the line images of this gun a few years ago, but I was really hoping for something with a paddle release.

I'll wait for people to shoot this side by side with a regular P365.

Not minority enough!

And, it was supposed to be available with no rail option. I like that.

We all were. This was almost a bait and switch pure and simple.

This is a purely U.S. gun from what have gathered. Designed for “us” and will be built here. Problem is I don’t really want the “designed for us”. I have plenty of options designed for “us”. I want my paddle mag release designed for “them” dammit.

Yet another pre-cocked striker micro-9. If that's what I wanted I'd have bought a P365 5 years ago, and today had almost infinite options for grip modules and slide setups. This offers less than options that are already proven and available.

I personally hate paddle mag releases, but if they'd put them on this they'd at least have appealed to their fanboy base, who are probably the only people who are going to buy this.

Build me a DA/SA micro-9, or even one with a Glock-style un-tensioned striker (that isn't a Glock)...something that's not already flooding the market. Then you'll have my attention.

This…….so very much this!!! That said we are the equivalent of the manual transmission sport wagon market in the car world. We are a loud vocal lot even though there are only 9 of us. Big Grin

All that said at least I was surprised they carried over the chassis system from the SFP9cc. I will say it looks better on video in human hands and I like the fact it’s basically a middle ground in size between micro to XL. So, honestly I will probably pick one up at some point assuming it doesn’t poop the bed mechanically because…….well…..“Fanboy base” God dammit! I’m not proud of it, don’t judge me YOUR NOT MY SUPERVISOR!! Big Grin. Razz

Take care, shoot safe.
Chris

Honestly, I'm sure it's a fine gun and when you buy one I'll be interested to read your review. I'm just ready for somebody to make something different!

Totally agree. I think it’s just a combination of “packaging” a striker system is just easier to shrink down vs all the hammer fired stuff and the fact that the U.S. market at large wants the tiniest possible gun (even if most can’t actually shoot them well, but I digress) that has one easy trigger pull.

Those two things conspire to make EVERYTHING a tiny polystriker 9mm.

That said there are more and more shooters who both appendix carry and have seen some of the high profile unintentional/negligent discharges and there seems to be at least a small drive in desire for DA/SA options like CZ etc.

I mean hell there is a resurgence is alloy/steel framed handguns and carry handle AR’s and I never would have seen that coming so I guess anything is possible. Smile

For the love of Christ please tell me those BRIGHT RED mag baseplates that have 72 font 10 rounds and 12 rounds on them are just for the press tour guns, if not it’s literally like HK looked at Springfield’s “Grip Zone” and said “Hold my beer”

Put me in this camp, like “few” others. If this was DA/SA, mag release or button, I wouldn’t give a fuck. Would have been awesome. But us DA/SA guys are like cslinger stated. I previously owned a JSW Turbo Diesel 6MT slinger. My current performance car is a 6MT AWD Turbo hatch with front and rear diffs. And the two previous before it (hatch STi and Focus RS), so your analogy made me LOL. Hell if it was DA/SA, I’d have a standing order in with my dealer, for 2 of them! I’ll be sticking with the PX4 subcompact, P30Sk, and when I need something even smaller, Rhino 2”.

It does sound like it has a best in class trigger so at least HK has listened to feedback from all the years of us HK folk bitching about their triggers. And I know I’m in the overwhelming minority wanting new DA/SA pistols options and platforms so this is good for my wallet. At the end of the day more competition in this space the better for everyone. HK is changing, the problem is they are extremely late to the dance as usual.

Ok, I'll confess...my most common daily driver other than my work car has a manual in it, too Big Grin. Nothing fancy, just a little base model Mazda 3. I think Cslinger nailed the correlation, and yeah, I guess I'm a dinosaur. But I'm not even 40 yet!

It's not so much that I insist on a DA/SA trigger (although I do like them), it's just that a gun this small is ideal for deep concealment, and that involves sticking it in places that I'm just not comfortable with a pre-cocked action. I want something that requires user input to create the energy necessary to fire the gun rather than something with all that energy stored up just waiting there for a chance to release itself and send a bullet into my body parts.

Every time one of these new micro-9s comes to market I think "oh, this might be the one". I mean, it's H&K...they're known for being different, right? They do their own thing and don't care what anybody thinks, because, well, "you suck and we hate you." Plus their factory triggers usually kinda suck, and people still buy their stuff, so I thought maybe they'd be the company that isn't afraid to do something different at the cost of a light trigger pull. But then I read up on it and found out they just followed the crowd Frown.

I see those stickers in promo photos of a freshly unboxed pistol, but not in any of the shooting/in-hand reviews. So I assume they're easily removable, and merely intended to help a new owner recognize the difference in capacity between the two magazines when first opened.

For example:

Based on what I have seen / interpreted. It’s got the same grip length as a P365XL with the 12 round mag in it. It’s slide length is a tad longer then the 365 and a tad shorter then the 365XL. Width is a hair wider than the 365 series. The trigger guard appears much larger.

Thank God those are just stickers.
