Y'all are assuming that these are genuine Oreos. How do you know they aren't the superior Newman-O's? Remember - the OP mentioned low light in his scenario.

I don't think this thread is going exactly as the OP planned...

Having said that, maybe a Bren Ten? Hell, it worked for Crockett...

Barrett 50BMG bolt? Oh wait...the passing pressure wave might suck the eyeballs out of my wife and that would be very gross. I might not be able to go back to sleep after that, and I do need my sleep these days.

Interesting scenario. Oreo's aside (unless they are dunking them in a glass of milk) I'm quite confident with a Nock volley gun.
By God that'll put a stop to his late night snacking shenanigans!

My wife was in the kitchen?

Hold it right there. This scenario just became unrealistic.

If your wife is anything like the lady in the photo on page 1 (often having a crazy lady role in movies).

Grab the Oreos and head back to bed. He can have her!

Fuck the Oreos, was she messing with my cast iron? Trying to put it in the dishwasher?
Ex wife did that once. Once.

Fun aside i will take a stab at this one.

My wife has supported my gun collection with a few complaints over the last 25 years. She, however, has a vague idea of the total cost of my guns.

SO, after a discussion with her about the issue while reloading last night. We came up with a game plan.

1) we don't need oreo's, never buying them again.

2) I need a gun to shoot the bad guy with that, will not hurt my collection when the police take it.

3) Speed like hostage shots would not be tolerated.

In the end we settled on me leaving the house to buy a lorcin 380. When I return throwing it at the fucker and beaning the bastard between the eyes with the 3lb flying chrome hammer.

At which point she will retrieve the gun and administer the coup de grace.

At that point she will have defended her self, woman versus man in the eyes of the law, and the gun that was confiscated is less than 200 bucks.

A woman in the kitchen with oreos is held by a gunman?

She's in her environment, surrounded by knives, meat tenderizer, and choices of skillets. Open one drawer and a selection of rolling pins dating back to Gramma.

Perp is toast. I can share an oreo as his last dying wish.

[COP]Why is there an oreo jammed in this guys lips?

[Me] It's like deer hunting, you put herbs in their mouth for the trip to the afterlife.

[Wife] Waste of a freaking oreo if you ask me. [Runs water in sink to clean butcher knife, skillet, meat tenderizer and Stainless flour canister with slight dent in it.]

[Me] I'll get the vac.

[Cop] yeah go ahead I got the pics. BTW the EMT's took the oreos.

[Wife] Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My carry gun and my nightstand gun are not the same.

This is also difficult to answer because I do not know many people who truly practice under extreme stress. Head shots at the range are a lot different than heads shots when a loved one is under duress and your half naked, dazed from waking up mid sleep and no contacts or glasses.

This same type of question is asked on a bow hunting website I frequent. People ask: there is a monster trophy buck 30 yards away. Your 20 ft high in a tree stand. You have a 4 inch circle between some brush to shoot, can you make the shot?

People claim they shoot 1" groups at 30 yards all day long. However they fail to training under similar conditions. They are not cold, they do not have on 3 layers of bulk clothing, they are not 20 feet in the air standing on a 2'x2' platform with an elevated heart rate, their shooting hand is not ice cold because they dont like to shoot wearing a glove.

To make a 30 foot shot at someone in my kitchen, I'd have to be standing out in the driveway and shoot through the window. Big Grin

I'm enjoying the thread. It's making me laugh. I like the idea of the Lorcin .380. If I thought about the police taking my gun, I'd probably negotiate a trade, my wife for the Oreo's. I also like a couple of points made by gpbst3 that I'd hoped would come out in the post. (1) The gun on my nightstand isn't my carry gun either. (2) Under stress, it's a whole different scenario. (3) the perp may not wait for me to get my glasses. I had to go to an optic. The only other part of the scenario would be that under stress, you'd fall back on your training or lack of it. You'd have to be confident in your gun. I've recently switched guns and it's a question I had to answer. I'm also planning to buy a new Sig, P210 carry. Considering where I might be able to use it. I could take the advice of poster in the thread and wear it to BBQ's, weddings, and funerals. I'm 70, I will be attending more funerals.

Tried that once. Two shot Derringer. Saved a lot of money. Didn't need a divorce.

Met the love of my life and am now happily married. Bought a P226 Legion RXP 9mm just in case. Razz
