What's this "or" shit? Obviously, the correct answer is do both. Razz

It would be hard to give up the Gen 6 G19 with the COA.
It seems like a perfect combination..

I can afford the G45 slide cut and optic, but another grand for a G45 COA would be a challenge.
I do like your set up though.

You know, in all honesty, the Gen 5 hasn't come out of the safe much since I got the Gen 6. However, I carried it so long that I'm pretty attached to it, so I don't want to part with it. That particular can is a more recent approval, and I love the way that setup balances and points, so once I get a chance to wring it out and make sure it runs reliably, it'll get relegated to headboard duty as pictured, and without the can for USPSA like I was doing until the tennis elbow started becoming unmanageable, whenever it is I get back to that. A long light on a shorter barrel with a short can means the suppressor shadow isn't even close to the hotspot, and that's on an Ultra, not a Turbo, so that alone makes me a happy camper.

Yeah, I have a Gen 5 G19 that's been mostly collecting dust since I got my G45, and it's about to be even dustier with a RXM on the way...

You'll come back to it. My friends who chased the RXM rabbit for a while all did. Razz

We'll see. Wink

One of the big things that holds the G19 back is it isn't optic cut. While I could send the slide off for milling or buy an aftermarket slide, for not that much more I just got a complete RXM. ($361 OTD)

And the RXM has the swappable grip option for both the G19-length and G45-length grips, since I usually prefer the longer G45 grip for everything but summertime concealment.

And the RXM is green. Big Grin

So in short, it'll be quite an uphill battle for the squat, black, non-optic G19 to clamber back into the rotation...

I'm going to toss an Osight SE onto the RXM, and it'll be my $500 optic-equipped budget G19/G45. $361 RXM + $139 Osight SE.

I'll take the G17, 19, 26 and 34, gen3 and gen5. No optics cut, no toomah, no magazines that fall out spontaneously or get stuck so badly, you need a drill press and a sledgehammer to get 'em out.

Black only, no front serrations, no fru-fru wiggy-wang gadgets. OEM everything except sights and lights and maybe magazine springs.

Since Glocks hit the shores decades ago I’ve owned sub-compacts, compacts, full sized and practical/tactical models in 9mm, .40 and 45 in Gen3 through 5. A couple 17s included those RTF models with the fish gill slides. In addition a couple of .380 42s. I sold most of over the years.

This year I decided to thin the collection more. I had a Gen4 23 (which is what I was issued when I retired), a 42, which I had recently began carrying most of the time, a G45, and a Gen3 17,19 and 26. I’ll always keep the G23, 26 & 42, so the obvious choice was to sell the 17 & 19, keeping the G45 as it split the difference so to speak and it has all the Gen5 upgrades.

No optics on them thank you. The only optic cut Glock I’ve had was a Gen5 34 MOS, that I mounted a Burris Fast Fire on just to dip my feet into the RDS thing. It was only a range toy though. I have ventured into the RDS thing in other platforms though, but that’s for another conversation.
