Well thanks to my range banning 320’s and all derivatives including my two XTens, I’m back to Glock, G20 Gen 5. The Gen 5 grip seems to fix prior issues I’ve had of Glock grips just not fitting my hand. We’ll see how this works out.

I think what I was trying to describe was more the issues I'm having with my eyes. Between astigmatism, glasses lenses I accidentally cooked the AR coating off of in the ultrasonic, and some blank spots in my vision that I'm actually going to see an opthalmologist for on Monday, I have to do more conscious things to get the dot to work for me. I didn't say I was shooting worse groups with a dot, I just said shooting for groups with a dot kind of sucks. Wink

I'll probably do that. The month or so I've had optics on handguns, I've had to blow dust out of inside of the windows several times. For a carry gun, an enclosed emitter is starting to make more and more sense to me. I'm hearing great things about the COA. But if I should luck into a stupid deal on a used G48, an EPS carry or SCS on it would still make for a handy carry piece.

Ok. When you figure out all that stuff you wrote in that paragraph I believe you will change your tune. Shooting tight groups with an optic, absent outside issues, is easier than with irons. Like I said in my post, dial down the intensity and try again. Even with astigmatism the bloom will lessen at low intensity. Now, don’t leave it like that for edc, this is merely a “target” trick.

Dots are old eye’s wet dreams. It is the equivalent of turning back the clock. You can have the best trigger control in the world if the sights are all fuzzy you ain’t hitting anything past a certain point. Dots will take over just like on rifles. We old guys might have to die off first but it’s happening.

I continue to add to the Glock collection. Stopped by AIM Surplus this past Saturday and noticed they had updated the website the night before with some more rare police trade ins. Picked up this Glock 34.

Interesting thing here is it has traditional night sites instead of adjustable. Trigger is a little firm as well. They are sold out now, but did last about 5 days online.

The dept probably ordered it with night sights.

All blue label 34/35s that don't get ordered with night sights come with regular plastic sights. No adjustable sight.

Just wound up buying another Glock 26 gen 5 tonight. I bought one a few months ago and removed the hump on the back of the frame and replaced it with the OT Defense flat piece and what a difference it made. This new one is for the Glock 26X frame I ordered. Wink

Just waiting for the wife to see the credit card statement now. Roll Eyes

I’ve got a 5th Gen G-34 (no frame cut-out, like yours.), it came with night sights, and actually prefer them to adjustable sights.

I will say, it is one looooonnnggg pistol! Especially for EDC / Duty! Wink

^^^^
I just bought the exact same thing in July. It does fit my hand much better than my old G3 Glock 20. It still doesn’t have the ergonomics of a Walther or HK striker but not bad all things considering.

Oh, you made me look in the forbidden direction again. I am sort of glad that they are sold out at the $419 price... helps with self-control and such.

I will note that CDNN has G35 gen 3, factory new, at $400.

Glocks, especially when they are with long slide or the larger frame ones (G21/G20) are really hard to resist, and more so the discontinued generations (2,3).

Well, it turns out my new Glock morphed into a Savage 25 Lightweight Varminter .22 Hornet with a good looking laminate stock, not the typical ugly plastic they all use now. I've been wanting a Hornet and decided it was smarter to get a $425 G19 than a $497 G34. There's no rush on a G19 like there is on a now discontinued 34. So I bought the rifle. The GSSF coupon is good for a year so I have 11.93 months to do something since it came 3 days ago.

Wrung out my new Gen 5 G20 today. Mounting the Holosun SCS was ridiculously easy and it being adapter plate free allowed for the standard height (now Ameriglow I-Cap) irons to still be used. The circle dot reticle is much easier and faster to pick up and to my mind, green is better than red for dot color YMMV. After sighting in the dot, 150 rounds went into a space of about 3 inches at 20 yards. Gun was completely (its a Glock) reliable. Very pleased with this set up. May spring for an SCS for my Gen 5 G19.

You people are evil. I was perfectly fine selling my G20 Gen 3 17 years ago. Now all this talk of the Gen 5 G20 fitting better. I held one at a gun show a week or so ago and yep, now I gotta have another one. Sigh.....

I hope you enjoy it..

That G30 is a handful.
I didn't keep mine long, still own the Gen 2 G21, CCR's Cera-plate.

I even tried a G30s, but sold it as well.

I miss owning my G33, but sold it when I got out of the 40/357sig business.
Still have the Gen 2.5 G26.

CCR's original Cera-plate

I have not bought a Glock for quite a while.
since IDPA banned the 320 i had to switch to something else. I bought a Glock 47 and put my delta Point pro on it.
Just like riding a bike ,never forget how to use it. shot my first match with it and had my best finish to date.

Nice little .45!
I like mine for shooting. Not so much for carrying.

My duty gun use to be a Gen 3 G-21. I picked the -21 and the -30 up at the same time for a great price, figuring the -30 would be a back-up / off duty.
Man that thing is like toting around a brick.
It just wasn’t comfortable as a back-up or off duty.

There’s currently a NIB 33 on gunbroker. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1124461283

I’ve been itching for a 32 to take the place of my P320 in .357 Sig. Finally found one used on GB just picked it up yesterday. Getting rarer now that they’ve been discontinued.

I haven't called my local LE dealer yet, they might have one sitting around. I'm waiting for one of my coworkers to get back from vacation (she's out of the country) to see if she's willing to sell me back the 33 I sold her when she started years ago and needed an off duty gun (we were issued the 31 back then). I sold it to her for $200. I'm going to offer her $200 for it. lol

Also the slide and barrel on it have been CPII'd and I had my dept patch engraved on it.

My gen4 21 also has the patch engraved on it and has been done by CCR in CPII Dusk.

old pic of my 33. engraving on top.

this is my 21 with CPII Dusk and the engraving.

My ultimate goal is to get the GlockStore 26X frame so I can make a 33X (33 slide with 32 grip)
