Gloom, despair and
agony on me.

Yeah figured they might just be pushing the optics ready slides at the start and hoping for non optics later down the road. I guess non optics for now would just be dedicated to the V line but if that the case I’d just as well get a used Gen 5.
And yes it’s an aesthetic thing same as front slide serrations and the new beaver tail on the Gen 6s but I suppose that’s not going to change. I don’t care for a milled slide since even with my aging eyes I have no plans on putting an optic on it. Oh well.

Edit to add happy 600th page!

Non-optics cut slides on new guns are going the way of carry handle AR’s, and rightfully so. Primarily, these are tools, and a red dot on a pistol isn’t appreciably different from a red dot on a rifle. They have to come ready to mount one new from the factory these days if they’re going to actually compete in the market, so yes, ALL Gen 6 guns are optic ready. Front slide cuts so you can work the slide without grabbing your optic goes along with that.

Boy howdy, are my new 15 round Mec-Gar slimline mags hard to load! And using the factory mag release when the slide is locked back with the empty mag in the gun is very difficult. Its the increased pressure against the slide release from the more powerful mag spring. But, that's not something you do often anyway. May invest in an extended slide release.

Yooper, where did you purchase your mags? I preordered from Glockstore but it's been radio silence from them.

I'm big on the Vickers Tactical Slide Stop.
Have them on several of my Glocks, including the 43X, before I sold it.
The 43X also had the Vickers magazine release.

Compared to the stock parts.

Bought mine from AIM Surplus from their showroom in Monroe (former home of Touchdown Jesus) OH. Big box of them on the counter for $25 each. They may be available online.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a 43X at Sportsmans and like it so much I went back last night and bought another. This time, I got the 43X MOS because it came with two 15-round magazines; really wanted but a non-MOS version but they didn't have any that came with the 15-round mags.

I’m really tempted to get another G43x, with the COA dot this time.

Me too, being I bought and sold a 43X, but I'm thinking about getting another with a COA since I like the G19 COA I purchased.

Also learning from Para's video that the 15-round Glock mags seem to fit better in the newer G43X pistols.
I saw some 43X COAs at the gun show a few weeks ago and they came with 15 round mags.

I can’t wait until the 15rd magazines hit the shelves. I’m wondering about the price.
Im assuming they have the same tennifer coating that the Glock Slides do.

Until then, I have no problems with the Shield Mags.

I have 4 that should be here Wed. They were 30 a piece. I suspect once the dust settles they will be around 23-25 bucks a pop.

I'll be interested to hear if you can feel a difference in weight between the 10 and 15 round mags. Part of the appeal of this little gun is how insanely light it is...but I can't imagine that 5 rounds of 9mm will make a noticeable weight difference.

I have a couple of PSA mags that I replaced the internals with Glock parts. In the hand you can feel a difference, nothing of any magnitude but there is a slight difference/maybe a slightly different weight distribution. Carrying there is arguably no difference in feel at all.

I am only speaking to the Glock 48, however, the 43x MIGHT keel out a bit more with the added weight in the grip but I cannot say for sure. Again we are only talking 5 rounds of ammo.

Greg Cote's website lists them as sold out.
You can sign up for notifications when they come back in stock.
I've done that over the years with him for various mags and was first in line when he got them in stock.

Glock Factory Magazine for Glock Model 43X/48 9mm Luger 15 Round

He also notes this warning for these mags.
