We’ll see how this plays out for me. I have been wanting a G19 COA but not really been in the market because only the 17 with irons or a RMR is authorized.
That will be changing for me so I have been looking for BL G19 COAs. My local BL dealer went out of business earlier this year so not any super close any more.
Found that KY Gun Co had some BL in stock according to their website yesterday. This was prior to the wide release of the recent news.
I had the day off yesterday but did not really have the time to drive the hour plus to go get one. I gave them a call and said they had 3 IN STOCK.
I asked if they could put one to the side for me and she said for 30% no problemo and had 90 to come and get it. So I put the money down and plan to go get it next Friday.
Called my buddy right after to see if he wants to make the drive with me so he knew I ordered one and this morning I had a text from him with a link to the article talking about the COA sale stoppage.

I have never done business with Ky Gun Co. Sure hope they are some stand up folks and that when I get there they can’t find the G19 COA with my name on it.


I wonder if this will alter the contract/timeline Glock has with Aimpoint on not releasing the COA that is not purchased on a Glock?

I imagine most, if not all the agency and department purchases are for the G19, G17, G45, G47 (and .40 caliber models) COA models and that the amount of COA red dots are the limiting factory, as Glock is still selling all their other models, including MOS.....for right now.

About a month ago, our Glock rep stopped by and dropped off a catalog that showed several (I assume) factory Glock models that are direct cut for optics like the RMR. I showed as an agency purchase only, but I thought it was pretty cool. You can buy a RMR/G17 combo factory direct.

At the armorer's class I went to last year, they were showing RMR/Glock, Holosun/Glock combos available for departments to order.

We ordered the Glock 45 MOS-5 about four years ago which are direct cut for the RMR.

The G19 COA comes with an optics plate cover. It is polymer and you then screw the rear sight back over it. Obviously the rear sights with screw holes will be the limiting factor but if for some reason you buy an COA Glock but want to run irons I suppose you can. lol

Thank you sir. It’s not so much about wanting to run it with just irons as much as what if the optic goes down and it’s in …..”Sweden getting a spa treatment or some such” That interim period one might want to still run the gun with plate covering the mounting area.

It’s my understanding, at least on the LE side, that Glock is handling all warranty issues, even with the COA optic. So IF there were an issue, it would be going back to Smyrna, GA as opposed to having to send it back to Sweden.

Yep, factory Gen 5 mags, and Strike Industries extended baseplates. +5 to 22rds. I got them for USPSA. One range trip with them so far, and they’re working well, but I'm yet to really beat on them. I read good things about them. These are the polymer version, but there’s also aluminum ones as well.

I have a few of the factory +2 baseplates, but after having two different failures with them now, I don’t trust the factory extensions and won’t use them. Had one get dropped on a wood floor one morning, fully loaded. The magazine basically exploded, rounds and pieces flying everywhere. Never did find the little insert from that one, so it's just been in the parts bin. The other one, I had the baseplate dislodge and start to unseat itself after getting dropped empty in the sand at a pistol match on a reload. I've heard of others having similar problems. I won't trust a magazine I can't drop and wonder if it'll fall apart. These baseplates have a locking tab that hooks onto the rear bottom lip of the magazine body and installs with a set screw.

Just back from department rifle quals and was advised we are all being issued G45 COA's.They said they will start in about a month and as I carry a P320 I will be one of the first (out of about 2000)

I'm assuming Department Issue, What are they doing with the old Sigs?

Up until now we used personally owned handguns chosen from a list. I've been carrying various Glocks for over 20 years (Carried a P228 before that) but once I shot the P320 I really liked how it fit my hand and how it shot so I started carrying it. Most guys carry Glocks with a few with other plastic guns such as M&P's and VP9's. We also have a bunch of guys using grandfathered Classic P Series, Beretta 92's, and even 3rd Series S&W semi autos. They said they will be issuing the new guns as they get them in and start with the guys carrying Sigs and then the other brands and lastly those with their own Glocks. We are a large department with a total of about 3400 sworn but a good portion are Detention and won't be issued guns at the beginning.

Stopped in a 'new' [been there a while just haven't had the time] LGS that's about 2 miles from my house.

They have multiple handguns on retractable cables [no magazine] for giving a feel.
They had a Gen5 G19, G48 & G49 out, among others.
The G49, not sure it'd be for me, the 48 is tempting.

They also had a single RXM, which felt a bit better in hand.

Sounds like our policy is about the same.
I'm grandfathered in with P-226 & P-220, 3rd Gen S&W's.

From what I'm hearing, they are close.
Glock will adjust the dot to the middle of the front sight (or pretty close to it), so it's about 90-95% there. You might just have to tweak it a little.

May be the one to tell you. I pick mine up Friday hopefully will have a chance to get to the range before quals so I won’t have to fiddle with it at quals.
