If I had to use a gun in self defense, whether that be a handgun or long gun, they can keep it. I couldn't care less if it cost $500 or $5000 if it saved my ass. Whatever the price, it was well worth it. Can't put a price on your life. Price of carry gun shouldn't even be a factor.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Well, it happened this week. I bought a Glock 31 and a Glock 26. I'm happy to report they were able to coexist with the P Series in the safe.

Sig Forum needs to start a Glock thread. No offense, IMHO. They are just as great as Sigs, and popular.
Merry Christmas to of us 2nd amendment gun owners.

I said I never would - but I did. 2 or 3. They a a good tool. But they are gone and I'm back to a full size SIG carried every day. At my age I'll not get another.

My bad, I meant a "Glock Pistol" Main Page heading section. When I went to a local gun show a few years ago to buy my first "auto", I held a Glock as well as many others. The Glock just didn't seem to fit or have the feel I was looking for. I knew of the popularity of it. I ended up getting an XD striker fire. Shortly after, that I realized I didn't like the striker fire style.
A few days later looking at the Sig site, I picked out one I thought I would check out by going to a local gun shop. I did, and that was it. 40 226 Tach Ops and it was a perfect fit and feel. I especially liked the DA with the hammer, and the rest was history as they say.

Being your first striker fired pistol was an XD, I can see why you poopooed on the platform.
That shitty spongy squishy XD trigger would make anyone run from the striker platform.

I'm glad your over priced specialty 40 226 Tach Ops fit your needs.
I hope you bought a 357sig barrel for it... Wink

Merry Christmas...

If this was a generic firearms form I could see it ... but this is SIGFORUM and just because we enjoy and talk about other manufacturers, should we really use bandwidth for a whole section of Glock, when there is already glockforum, glocktalk and glockpro? To be honest, I'm kind of surprised that this thread has been allowed to go on for over 400 pages ... On the other hand, a while back over on the AK forums it used to be a thriving AK community, now it's more of a generic place called gunsnet and they dedicated space to Black Rifles, shotguns and tactical but it seems the membership has dwindled and thre are sections that haven't had a post in months and a lot of the knowledgable members have moved on, over the years I've seen the same thing happen to HK & AUG forums and they are practically unrecognizable compared to their former glory or they no longer exist ... I suspect another forum I used to frequent, "The High Road" is going through a similar transition.

I would suppose board owners did it in hopes to attract new members with diversity and with more members, advertisers to pay for the bandwidth and server space ... and I'm not saying it's good or bad, just what I've observed with forums since the late 90's ... I think the reason I don't hang out at HKPro and AK.net are because they just got so generic but maybe it's just the life cycle of a forum.

You might need to back through this thread that Para started.

It might give you some insight.

Not even a week since my last Glock purchase and this one falls in my lap.
A minty fresh G23 gen4 with the older teflon finish for $350.
Can't beat it for the price.
I wasn't in the market for another gun let alone a 40 cal.
It will most likely serve as a future project gun.

It has taken 20+ years but I have come to the realization that my collection needs a core of Glocks and spare Glocks. I love other guns, just got a 225a1 that is the tits, but glock fills the baseline niche of do all, basic, reliable, inexpensive hammer.

I too would have picked that up for 350.

Yeah I thought it was a decent deal.
I took apart the slide a little bit ago and was pleasantly surprised to see that the original owner had installed an Apex extractor and plunger.
Don't know why as I thought the BTF issue was a 9mm issue, but hey, free upgrade parts that I can slap into a different gun, heck ya.

I'm really starting to think I ought to try to pick up a 26 and a 34 or, if I can get lucky, a 17L, and round out the 9mm double-stack Glock experience. Had four 19's, a 17 and a 42. Sold a 19, and I'm selling another one to a friend after he gets his income tax return. It's nice to have duplicates and choices, but when I carry the same one every day anyways and all the rest sit the safe except for the gen4 with the light, I have to wonder what it gains me. Instead, a nightstand gun with a longer barrel makes sense, and so does having access to a the subcompact in the same holster and mags.

May have just talked myself into it.

I'm not sure what I site I might gain, if you feel strongly about it, feel free to provide a link.

I'm not saying that we should only talk about SiG's ... I came here back when SiG introduced the 556, one thing that I liked about this site was that members are free to voice their honest opinions even when those opinions aren't flattering. There have been people that talk shit on the 556, and I seem to remember less than flattering posts about the 250 ... to the point that they no longer own the offending model ... as long as their bitching was based in "fact" and they weren't just trolling, they weren't banned and their posts weren't deleted.

We all share other firearms we enjoy, including Para, and we should be free to ... For a while now I've been having a bit of a romance with CZ's which is nice because I'm not a fan of their forum, it's kind of boring and seems like a lot of fan-boys that don't have any other experience ... but an entire Glock form just because we have one "super" thread ... Again, it's not my call and I really don't care if we add a Glock section to the forum but with all the existing forums dedicated to the Glock, I don't see the point.

Yep, that's how it happened to me. Then I needed a "Goldilocks" G17 to have one in the middle.
