Thank goodness so many people have dropped by to tell us that they won't be buying any.

That makes it easier for the rest of us to find what we want. The .gov will be enough competition. Smile

I'm getting a compact 9 real soon. Wink

I bought three of them when the Single Shot Exemption was still valid. I never had a failure in any of them, total about 5,000 rounds so far. I would like to purchase a compact in .357 Sig.

Maybe you should handle/shoot one before passing judgement?

Don't encourage him, leaves more for the rest of us that recognize a good thing. I now have three of them. Buying lightly used save me a bunch.

If people would mind their own damn business this country would be better off. I owe no one an explanation or an apology for my personal opinion.

If I was shooting a lot of IDPA or USPSA, I'd try one for SSP or Production. But I am not shooting very much any more, and I have a bunch of similar pistols, so I probably won't get one.

It's ergonomic for me. I must have turd-shaped hands ...

The barrel radius is much too high? I have been around firearms for decades and first I ever heard of that.

I have a hard time recalling a pistol with less consensus around it than the P320. It's either the greatest striker fired pistol in the world, or it's "meh". Guess I'll just have to buy one and cast my own vote.

Just replaced the shell on my all black P320 carry with a FDE compact, mags from our friends at Top Gun Supply and it has taken over AIWB duty as my EDC.

One question, what sight pusher are you guys using, I need to add some HD's.

That's exactly how I felt when I was considering buying a P320. Reviews and impressions seemed to be all over the place. I finally bit the bullet and decided to just try it myself. So far, in my limited testing. it's closer to the former than the latter.

My Black Carry just got the addition of an OD Green Compact frame and a FDE Subcompact railed frame, with several corresponding magazines. It can now quickly change between three different grip lengths and magazine capacities, all using the same slide and the same holsters. Very flexible. (And I can color-coordinate it with my purse and shoes too.)

There a discussion of P320 sight pushers here:

I'll be using the universal tool mentioned by Zacsquatch in that thread to install a set of HDs on mine.

I believe the literary genius meant to say "bore axis". Roll Eyes

I can't understand why some folks like to make grandiloquent statements informing us unwashed lobotomized masses of what they DON'T like.

I have been a fair broker on the gun, even when I was sponsored by SIG. It's true, there have been some issues with the gun that never should have been. For all out dumb reasons. But, the gun will do things in my hands and in the hands of many of my peers that the others don't seem to do as well. The big thing I notice is the fact that it is tolerant to bad inputs. Where many guns aren't as forgiving, the P320 is.

Most of the issues that the guns had when they were cutting teeth are gone now. It's hard to find an out of the box gun that just doesn't run in the current production stock.

As to the negative opinion of some, well ok. That's about all you can say about it. Some will hang onto myths such as high bore axis, and whatnot to rationalize not liking it. Some just like other stuff, and that is the great times that we live in. Lots of other choices out there. It's hard to fault people for personal preference.

I got burned on compact I couldn't keep running. I'm going to buy another soon and give it another run.

Jones, what you are saying is thematic with what I've read. Trainers, competitors, and those that run the gun hard and fast seem to be the biggest fans. Most of the negative reviews come from those with an early model or that just don't like the feel of it. At the end of the day, I don't care what it looks like in the showroom, I care how it gets around the track.

High bore axis is something that seems to be said quite often by people who armchair experts. It sounds excitingly scientific and precise. It seems like the sort of thing that an actual expert might say.

It is also a criticism that has been leveled at the classic all-metal SIGs for decades.
