PGT, what models wear that style slide? It looks heavier and is the slide I want when I get my first Beretta.

Thank you. I need to keep better track of the Beretta threads to learn.

Both. I have another 357SIG based on a 96A1 frame with 90-TWO .40 slide

No way I'll get rid of my 357 Sigs
First was a P226/40R and withing 1 month had my 357 Factory barrel. Then along came a LEO S&W M&P 40 and I put the Storm Lake 5" 357 Sig barrel. It is now my bedside companion w/light.

Love the fact that if I have an intruder coming up my stairs - there will be holes and plaster all over -

If I could find a pair of Legion P229s in .357SIG I'd buy them. I was always enamored with the caliber but at the volumes I prefer to shoot, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze to me. I consolidated around 9mm long ago with a smattering of .357 Magnum, .38SPL and .45ACP.

I'd say look at either the P226 or the P239... I think much easier to change from 357 sig to 9mm... but then they really all need a full upper if you are going to do it right....

My opinion has evolved with the growth of this thread. If anyone is uncertain about the .357 Sig, I now firmly believe that the .357 Sig is a problem for YOU, and you need not suffer the distress of potentially bearing the consequences of its perceived disadvantages any longer. Please, for humanity's sake, let me help you remove these woes from your life and take all your .357 Sig weapons that you possess off your hands. Big Grin

I sold my P226ST in .357 Sig long ago.. Frown Had around 30 thousand Nickle and brass once fired for it. Bought here and sold here, a 2nd P226ST in .40 S&W unfired. The .357 Sig is very soft shooting from a all stainless gun.

From a Highway Patrol standpoint it is still a better choice today than the 9MM Parabellum.
It has vastly superior performance when called upon to penetrate hard barriers like a car door or more frequently a windshield. Yes I have had the need to shoot through a windshield in order to save a life.
Apart from that it is a superbly accurate and flat shooting cartridge from any firearm.

Amen, amen and amen. Have been "affiliated" with that previously mentioned organization, I will gladly respond to the unasked "Can I get a witness".... I have a couple of P226's from that agency, a few P229's and a P239, all in .357 Sig. Yes, it is expensive to get practice ammo and good duty ammo is about $00.65 a round... not cheap. But knowing the outstanding street rep it has, and being one that does not accept the FBI Bullistic Protocols as Gospel Truth, I personally feel like it is a much better defensive round than almost every 9mm available.

The .357 embodies the concept of high speed, lighter weight ballistics, which I personally think are superior to what the Feeb's advocate. In fact, I've been informed of more than one instance where the FBI's pet chosen round, the Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr. +P FlexLock 9mm, performed quite poorly in actual shootings. In one, it went through a windshield, hit the felon driver in the forehead, then bounced down into the center console. He kept driving for a bit, with a bad headache. Now yes, that was through glass, which clearly bedevils all pistol rounds, but I also know in the past drivers shot through windshields with the .357 Sig who immediately went to St. Peter's Gate to explain their lives.

About 30 years ago I worked for the US Dept. of Energy at a nuclear weapons storage facility, I was fortunate enough to get to go through their month long SRT School at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. We had a stunning lineup of highly qualified instructors from military and LEO circles, but one of the most impressive men was Larry Mudgett, an early member of LAPD SWAT, a fellow who had 'Seen the Elephant' many, many times. I've come to highly respect his opinion and it turns out, he is a huge fan of the .357 Sig. He is also far more able to articulate why is it such a great carry round, so here's a link from his blog, Marksmanship Matters, named for his shooting school up in Utah:

http://www.marksmanshipmatters...to-pistol-cartridge/

I still believe that in any armed confrontation, having a high degree of knowledge and skill with whatever weapon/caliber you use is #1, accuracy is #2 and quickly delivered follow up rounds is #3, however I still want the most effective, power delivering load I can get, round for round, that fits in a conventional DA/SA format that can be reasonably carried daily.

For my purposes, the .357 Sig hits on all points. Yes, other calibers in other grain weights and velocities can be very effective, but for me the .357 Sig is the best available right now.

Just my $00.02, YMMV.

I shot and reloaded the .357sig and loved it for years, shot it out of a .229 but switched to a glock and that thing was brutal either I became weak or it's the wrong pistol for that type round but ended up selling it all off including the die went back to 9MM and like the compacts.

^^ Some 357SIG pistols do seem to work better for me than others. The P226ST, P320Fs and Steyr ain't going nowhere, but neither the regular 226 nor the 229 were ever all that comfortable for me to spend time at the range with.

I've got a Glock 32C (compensator barrel) and it is quite an interesting experience to shoot. I won't say it's bad but it's not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.

Not a chance! In fact, I just bought a Case of Winchester Ranger JHP's to supplement my usual Gold Dot ammo... Smile

Been getting into the 357 Sig for a while now. Decided I really like the characteristics and performance of this round.

Picked up A P239 first. Loved it at the range. Accuracy was incredible (after I put new high viz sights on it).

Then I had a spare P320 grip module and FCU so added a caliber Exchange kit in .357 to it. That shoots even better!

Thane finally I found a P229 no rail 2 tone in 40 and added a 357 Sig barrel to it immediately. Well it matched the other 2 pistol for accuracy, control and ease of shooting.

Found some great practice ammo at slightly above 9mm prices so I bought 1k rounds. And some Gold dots were available in bulk and got a bunch of them also.

My carry ammo is the Federal HST LE load. It's the most accurate load I have found so I'm completely confident in it;s use for my daily carry.

Mt P239 is a DAK and I have found being a long time revolver shooter it is super accurate and fast for me.

Very happy with all!

I switched all my 40's over to 357 Sig. I'm already set up to load 9mm. So I just use the same components (except for the brass).
