For sure! Would be interesting to re-run it in the fall with more covering clothing.

My going to town carry is G30 (.45 cal double stack) quite comfortably housed in a Hidden Hybrid IWB. My working around the house, yard, or checking the mail carry is S&W 629 (44 mag) Mountain Gun in a Simply Rugged shoulder rig — as described by the bride, both are works of art. The same P365xl I carried for several years. Just can’t find a good reason to carry anything else. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I am not quite to “get off my grass/yell at clouds” age nor do I eschew all things new. That said I always chuckle at the “is this gun obsolete” type posts or videos. Does it reliably and safely launch a projectile? Do you have projectiles to launch? Can you shoot said projectiles accurately? Then no, it is not obsolete. This thread reminds me of that in many ways. Not everybody is carrying the latest itty, bitty plastic, 9mm, with a dot. Pretty sure they are still fairly well armed and not dead folks walking. Almost like it was designed to be a darn near perfect carry gun for the masses. Strange. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I joke about J’s above but I have a 442 setup the same as an “always/ankle/pocket” type thing as well. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I would add: Are repair parts available? Is it rare or valuable enough that you wouldn't want it seized by police if you have to use it? My Glocks are pretty interchangeable, if need be, and I rarely carry my Sig because I only have one. I'd carry it most of the time if I had a spare or two, or could replace it quickly and relatively inexpensively. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

I, for one, don’t generally have a seasonal setup. Honestly for the past decade or so the vast amount of the time I carried a P2000 in 9mm or .40 pretty exclusively. It’s only been within the last couple years I’ve been messing around with optics and “stack and a half/small thin stuff” but I always seem to come back to the P2K, but damn if I don’t like the Glock 48/43x. I like the Hellcat Pro too but the Glock 48/43x are really my first real guns to rival my P2000’s for carry. While I have other guns (1 or 2 or many) that might pinch hit for a specific reason, season isn’t really a reason for me. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I could see those as personal reasons but nothing that stops something from being a viable self defense weapon. I have a P7M8 that would more or less fall into both of those categories and I wouldn’t bat an eye if I had to/wanted to carry it. I have carried it in the past. I do agree the best general advice for most folks is to carry something ubiquitous/inexpensive/easy to fix/replace etc. Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris
