Assume this was as an individual and not as a trust?

Form 1's and Form 4's are being handled by different teams of examiners and have wildly different processing times currently. Form 4 individual times are running about a week or less, trust about a month or so, and Form 1's are currently at about two months for individual or trust.

Why?

Well, if the couple guys I've seen repeatedly bragging about it on r/NFA are any indicator, it's because there are people out there who have filed hundreds of Form 1 cans and are filing more on an ongoing basis.

Guys, it would really be helpful if you specify individual or trust. It makes a huge difference.

Four Form 4 transferring old SBRs from Single Shot trusts to individual. Certified 5/17/26, approved 6/2/26.

If you have old forms without a control number, it’s an adventure trying to find it so you can do an eForm 4. They seemed to be somewhat loose in transferring the data from old paper forms to eforms, and there can be some differences from what’s on your approved paper form from what’s in the system. Some I ran into are: a dash in one trust name was replaced with a space, while in another trust name, the dash was there, trying to find the correct model in the drop down menus, and variations in how the caliber was listed (e.g. 300 BO vs .300). There are multiple ways to search for the control number, but they have to exactly match what was put in the system.

Form 4 individual. Certified 5/22, approved 6/2.

Without using my UPIN I am always delayed when purchasing a firearm, with it I get approved instantly. Interestingly enough, my first three cans this year were approved in 3-4 days. This time I included my UPIN on the Form 4 and it took longer. Goes to show there's no rhyme or reason for different times for individual.
