Form 1 SBR
Individual
Submitted 7/6/26
Approved 8/4/26

Seems Form 1 times are dropping after hitting close to a 3 months average.

Now just waiting for them to drop the engraving requirement.

I don't follow this intimately, but where is the F1 don't need second engraving ruling in its timeline?

Comment period ended about a month ago. Now it just waiting for a decision to be published. There is no timeline for that to occur. Could be next week, month, year, or never.

As in you forgot to attach it or there was a problem with it?

My self-transfer (individual to my trust) for my first can was disapproved because you "can't stack the 24 month exemption". They've taken it more than once before, so...

I just refiled with the trust paperwork attached.

I don't know. The only thing they put for reason is "RPQ." I just resubmitted as an individual.

Form 1 SBR individual submitted 8/3, approved 8/12. Guess I got the examiner who likes to put the engraving requirements condition on the approval. Hopefully the rule change comes soon.

NFA hopper is currently empty.

Form 1 individual SBR filed 8/7. Used the 24 months trust exemption, attached no photos. I'd seen that some people were getting denials over those, but I did not.

Approved this morning. 11 days, not bad.

I'm going to look closer into what's currently the best practice Form 1 can paperwork approach and then file a whole mess of them over the next few days. Saw someone say they're just sending pictures of rolls of filament with a handwritten note on them saying "will construct after approval" and that's been working.

0 Days, 0 Hours, 0 Minutes

That's right, I walked into my local gun store, showed my state handgun license (skipping the NICs check), filled out a 4473 and walked out 15 minutes later without a NFA background check. I'm intimately familiar with the ups and downs of the NFA wait, having waited 11.5 months in 2016, and the disbelief of 48 hours in 2025. This thread has been going for 13 years and I'm honored to be the first to post a 0 minute NFA wait time.
